...TD Insurance. Existing customer. So far today is 90 minutes wait time and counting. Hung up the other day after 40 min. Are they still in business or have they just completely given up on customer service? How are new customers getting through? Seriously, this is horrible. How are claims getting through? At least put a radio station to listen while on hold instead of that annoying dingle...

Shocking hold times

...I tried repeatedly to ask a very basic question about a potential vehicle purchase. These guys do not generally answer the phone. You are told by a robot that "we are experiencing higher than usual call volume." Then you hear a guitar riff. This has been going on since July. I sent an e-mail in late August explaining I needed to speak to someone but the wait times were incredible. They called me back two weeks later. I had to return their call, hold, talk to someone who then put me on hold to transfer a second person, hold and finally talk to a third person. There is virtually no customer service. I renewed my policy in July and am locked in till next summer. This is unfortunate. I hope I never actually have a claim...

...I have never experienced a more frustrating customer experience than the one I am having with TD Meloche Monnex. I was hoping to give them a zero rating, but the lowest number of stars is one. I have tried reaching them several times over a 2-3 week period with no luck. I am now in the process of cancelling 3 auto policies, 1 house policy and 1 business policy. They are pathetic, sadly no one there will care...

They Don't Answer the Phone

...You can't get through to them to ask them any questions. They leave you hanging and you can't get through to ask questions. Good value for the money, but totally NOT accessible; especially when you need them. They really need to fix their "Call Centre" CRM program! That's their biggest downfall...

...I had an important question about my auto policy. Called numerous times but no one ever answers. First time was on hold for over 53 minutes before I hung up. Called multiple calls well over 30 minutes on hold before hanging up. Never got through. Complained online with no response. I cannot imagine if you had to make a claim or had an injury. Seeking a new insurance company...

...Had a claim in April with no deductible. Got a call in September that they want to collect 450$ deductible, asked why what happened they said that I must pay it like it or not. I asked the manager but I was told that I won't have a deductible and she didn't care and said if I don't pay it that they will send it to collections. That is the service you will get if you sign car/home insurance with them. STAY AWAY...

...Never had a claim before. Did not know what's it like to be in pain, if your insurance company, don't answer your call, leaving 100 voice mail. Even supervisor doesn't exist. The best answer was - if I did not go to work I wouldn't have an accident, so people please don't drive a car, don't go to work, period. Are you for real an adjuster or joker, or whatever they just hired you to bully people...

If you have a good driving record in AB, you should pay around $110/month (women - $105/month and men - $113/month). Do you overpay? Get an Alberta car insurance quote to start saving.

...Waiting endlessly has been happening more and more...this level of call volume is not an 'unusual' event anymore, as claimed. Out of spite, I'm maintaining my line in the queue - now at 3 hours!!! A certain volume of business requires a certain number of people, and if you won't adjust your staffing levels we'll have to take our business elsewhere. That will put your staffing back into balance, won't it?..

...Yesterday I called and waited for 2 hours until the office closed and cut me off from the line. Now I am waiting for another 1.5 hours and came up to see so many people having the same experience as me. Not know how long have to wait to get an agent...

...I am presently waiting on the phone for the Toronto Office. I called 3 times today; the second time was because I ran out of battery on my phone after 55 minutes waiting. The second time I call the Montreal Office, hoping they would transfer me easier. I waited another 50 minutes then my phone died. I am waiting for 56 minutes now on the 3rd call for Toronto. Hey guys! Wake-up. Does not make senses at all if you want to keep going and make business...

...Purchased a new vehicle last week and traded in an older one, and simply needed o transfer auto insurance. I am on hold for over 3 hours and still no one answering. The office opened at 8:00 am, I called at 8:03. Also tried to make the change online 6 days ago, change still pending online and now I cannot get my new vehicle today as planned. Will cancel TD insurance and go with a broker. Time is more important to me than any cost savings. Management should be fired...

...I called on Saturday...waited for 2 hours and 20 minutes. I had things to do, so I had to hang up. Currently, I have been on hold for over an hour. It is like they have one person working there. I have been advised that they are "ramping up" a new call center and hiring 200 people. I was told that over 2 months ago when I complained about their wait times. Thus far, zero improvement, and in fact, longer wait times. DO NOT USE THIS INSURER...

...Normal to wait 1.5 hours for a representative. TD is also in breach of following their own complaint handling process. Awaiting TD Customer Care to respond back after THREE MONTHS of waiting. Attempted numerous calls/emails to no avail. TD Ombudsman will not participate in escalation until TD Customer Care responds, so therefore TD is able to BLOCK the complaint process. I am going to continue to fight this horrendous insurance provide. Also, the TD MyAdvantage application, which they will sell you on to provide an up to 25% discount on auto rates is non-functional. Good luck trying to get it to work for you. Take my word for it: AVOID AT ALL COSTS. Go with another provider, even if it means paying slightly more...

...Had to phone in after having been locked up of my online account (why?). Waited forever to get answered by a first-line agent, transferred to a second-line agent, and waited forever again only to end up wasting another more than a half-hour and not even have my case resolved. And that was just to make simple changes to my policy. Imagine having that kind of service after an accident! Cancelled and went elsewhere (while I was waiting on the line with TD, lol). It's also useless to use the online portal; all my modifications were lost and I got locked out of my account. They probably wanted to have me call back and try to upsell me...

...With TD 4 years now. Every time I try to call is agony. Fastest time yet to talk to someone was 45 minutes. Most times it takes 90 minutes. Today I was trying to call to remove a vehicle from my policy and replace it with another. I started calling at 11:54 am and finally got to talk to someone to make the change on my policy at 6:16 pm. Multiple times after waiting on hold for 45 - 60 minutes the hold music would stop and shortly after the call would disconnect. Once was an hour and 56 minutes when the call was cut. If you ever get to talk to someone they are very friendly and helpful but the wait time to speak with someone is ludicrous. I'll be going elsewhere when the policy is due for renewal...

...I have tried contacting TD insurance several times and have waited for more than an hour each time. So I tried to sign up for online and got a message twice that it could not be done and to call an 1800 number and am back on hold forever. What gives this company? This is horrible customer service...

...The last few times I called it took forever on hold before I got through. Today I was on hold for over 3 hours and gave up - did not get through. I also tried to sign up online in case I could make a change there - even a delay with online account activation. I have been a client for over 25 years, insure my house and currently 5 vehicles. They used to have great customer service and I had some loyalty, but now you would think they don't want to keep customers. If I find a better price I will seriously consider leaving...

...I was on hold for more than an hour and then had to give up..... Another time, I called to make a claim, again on hold for 20 minutes, left a message and the recording said I would get a call back within 24 hours but I did not. They do not answer calls, nor do they give you options to make changes to a policy digitally... at least not significant changes. The terrible company overall...

...I have been a client for over 18 years and I can't believe I am waiting on the line for over 3.5 hours so far to reach customer service for my renewal policy. I even opted for them to call me back in priority sequence and when the automated attendant called back thinking they are available, the system would not recognize my selection to speak to an agent and called back 3 times not transferring me. This is so screwed up. I have all my insurance business with TD Meloche and with this experience, I am now looking for new providers. This is ridiculous...

...I tried to call TD Meloche Monnex this week and each time the wait time was ridiculous. I am currently on hold with them now for almost 3 hours and still have not talked to anyone! This is so frustrating! If there was a 0 zero this would be more appropriate than a 1 star for customer service...

...There’s ALWAYS long wait for an agent. I tried to make a change yesterday but I gave up as I couldn’t stay on line for more than an hour, and today I’ve been on hold for 40 mins now while I’m writing this review. Last time I called in I was told now it’s a peak season, however, if they’re aware of it why not hire more people? Why not improve it? Horrible customer service will cancel policy upon renewal...

...The second day of waiting on hold for over 2 hours! I have 3 young kids and cannot dedicate this amount of time to try and speak to someone about a simple coverage question. I will be changing companies as soon as possible. I recommend to take your insurance search elsewhere...

...I have been calling TD insurance couple times already for the past couple months because I need to add my daughter to my policy. The average wait time is 3 hours. I had called them last Friday and was on hold for 3 hours and then I had to hang up because I need to go. I'm calling again now while writing this review. And I have been waiting over an hour already still no one picks up the call. Terrible customer service...

...I called to change my address with them when we moved. They sent me a new policy package, but forgot to add in the pink insurance card with my updated address. Tried their online website to request a new insurance card, but after several weeks I hadn't received it. I called them and waited over an hour to speak to someone. They said they could send me a new insurance card in the mail with our new address on it. Great, problem solved. It arrived a few days later, only for me to find out that the pink insurance card had my previous address on it and not my new address (even though they mailed it to my new address), basically rendering it useless to me. I have been on hold with them for the past hour and twenty minutes waiting to get this resolved again. Likely the last time I call them until I go to cancel when my policy is up for renewal...
