25.9% interest will murder me

by Desperate on Sep 26, 2021
1 out of 5 stars

25.9% interest is piracy, I would like to negotiate a better rate to help me pay off the balance. I didn't buy toys, I staved off homelessness while working full time this entire pandemic. I would appreciate at least the opportunity to seriously discuss a lowering of my rate to ensure I can pay you off in the most expedient manner. Let's talk.

So many better options

by Tire on Sep 15, 2021

I don’t know why anyone would get this card?
I was two days late on a payment and they cancelled my monthly subscriptions which totalled $40!
Also, make six figures and they won’t increase my limit?
PC Financial is an easy alternative and I will be closing this!

Credit card

by Burnt shopper on Jun 10, 2021
1 out of 5 stars

I am currently fighting a charge that was applied to my card without me making a purchase. This credit card company keeps giving me the runaround about it. They can see the charge on the statement, they can see I did not receive the product and that the online order was cancelled. Each time I get on the phone they start the process over and I’m to wait another 5-7 business days. This time, I got close to the person that can actually help and the call “mysteriously” got dropped (he hung up).

This card company and Canadian tire seem to make money off people by charging your card for items you don’t buy and then give you the run around when you dispute it hoping you will forget about it. This is over a $500 charge, too bad for them I won’t go away. It’s not the money anymore, it’s the principle of it. Banks continuously get people's hard-earned money and get richer and richer off the backs of real working people.

Horrible! They REFUSE TO HELP!

by Fed up customer on Apr 18, 2021

I was paid up, they locked my card, never applied for a $150 payment and refuse to answer. Complained numerous times get a chatbot for an answer. Even went to the ombudsman and they refuse to help.
I REFUSE to pay the bill, but can’t as I am locked out of my card.

DO NOT GET THIS CARD, YOU WILL REGRET IT!!

Unhelpful customer service

by Poori on Jan 12, 2021

As a person with multiple accounts, I got the first NSF fee on the card so I called in for some help. Other banks are helpful in waiving the first fee but CT won't help no matter what. At one point the customer service shouted back at me". If you can pay for other bank's NSF fee why can't you pay for ours?". I was totally speechless. One of the most regretful credit cards I ever had in Canada.

Not dependable

by Kerry L on Dec 6, 2020
1.5 out of 5 stars

It’s a complete nightmare whether your card will go through at a store or not. You can use the card dine once and a second store a few minutes later the card will decline. It picks and chooses at what your purchases are, and how much you can spend even with several thousand dollars credit available on your account. It is a complete joke. You can’t even log in to pay your bill and resetting your password! They never send you emails to correct this problem.

Horrific all around

by Jeff A on Oct 17, 2020
1 out of 5 stars

Horrible customer service, rude and condescending when they are completely in the wrong. I'm consistently making payments online and in-store which makes the credit instantly available yet they randomly apply the payment to my balance any day they please. It shows up 1-7 business days after I’ve made it and however it's most beneficial to them. They never have a plausible answer and are always looking to get you off the phone as soon as possible. DO NOT get this card unless it is absolutely your only option.

Sketchy company

by CD on Oct 7, 2020

Usually rude on the phone, high interest rates, don't work with you to get a lower interest rate when you have a zero balance. Do not get entrap with this card because you'll never be able to pay it down if you lose your job due to the high interest and penalties. If you going to get a MC or Visa go to the bank, not through stores. Say for example your bill says you owe 100.00 monthly payment and you put an 800.00 onto it. They will take off the 100.00 payment and 3-4 days later take another 50.00. I feel they are commenting on fraud.

Excellent Customer Service

by TS on Oct 2, 2020

Canadian Tire’s customer service is excellent. I really appreciate their support and understanding during Covid-19 and their willingness to work with me during these difficult times. As awkward and uncomfortable as it was to discuss my financial situation, I never once felt judged.
