NOT worth the stress

by PCgoodFoodBadCard on Apr 10, 2020

Nov. $10000 limit. Dec. Locked card for security verification. Jan. Unlocked/Completed Jan. Lowered credit Limit and raised interest. I absolutely believe all the terrible reviews that this card is received on this site and others. I wish I would have read them before I signed up. Now there were many other problems with this company that I have just given you the basics. They are liars can't give you a straight answer and I believe there is something really fishy with this company. I feel uncomfortable with them even having my information but what's done is already done. I have four other cards that I've had for years and years and I have never seen or had the problems I do with this thing and those people. Don't get this card unless you are not going to carry a balance.

Not Impressed

I received this credit card back in November with a 2500 limit. Used it when on vacation and took some cash advance payment. I noticed they lowered my credit limit to 1600. I always paid on time never missed a payment. I have not used this card for a few months make more than the minimum payments. Now they've lowered my limit to 1200! So this hurts my credit as they lowered my limit again. Well, get this card paid off asap. Worse card ever!

Denied credit limit increase

by Very Unhappy MC User on Mar 30, 2020
1 out of 5 stars

After over 40 years as a loyal Mastercard customer, I asked for a $2,000 credit limit raise. I should mention that I have ALWAYS paid off my credit card in full EVERY month without exception. I was denied. So I phoned (thinking there must be some misunderstanding) to find out why I was denied. The 'manager' told me it was because of many factors: my spending (which was always lower than my credit card limit), mortgage payments (which I don't have as I own my home completely), other credit card debts (I don't have any other credit cards so what was she talking about?!), and credit rating (which is perfect - yes I checked). She couldn't (or wouldn't) be more specific. It was the most ridiculous conversation I had ever had. What fools to deny someone who has the means to pay everything off each month! And if there truly is some kind of problem, she should have told me so I could fix it. I think she just made a mistake and didn't want to admit it. Unfortunately, she isn't the one that suffers.

High interest, low point value

by onlyone on Mar 6, 2020
1.5 out of 5 stars

I only picked up the card because of the free points they gave. A points system is cheap. You would think in store at least they'd offer a good point value but nope. I only used the card once and called there support once. Support took forever and did not resolve my concern (moving points as somehow it created a separate point account for me). Now got a notice of interest rate going up and they will round down on purchase points now. So how do you take a bad card and make it worse? Well, ask presidents choice execs.

They are scammers

by freedoms on Mar 5, 2020

I had a PC Mastercard 17 years ago, but I stopped using it 14 years ago. Because my last PC Master was scammed. Then, they sent me a letter. According to the letter, they would close my account, because there was no transaction for the last six months. So, I cut my last PC Mastercard. I paid for all the purchases. 17years later, I applied for PC Mastercard. They denied my application form. I called customer services... I waited for 30mins. According to them, I owe the company money. That's why they denied my application. I didn't know that I owed them money although I paid for everything! They haven't contacted me for 14years! Even though I questioned them, they didn't give me answers. They just gave me many excuses... My last Mastercard account closed completely, but I still have to pay for roughly $900. They couldn't do anything, even though I paid all my purchases off 14 years ago. I don't know where the $900 came from! I'm waiting for the $900 bill from PC Mastercard now. I recommend others never have PC Mastercard.

Worst choice

by r0bbie43 on Feb 24, 2020

Started with a credit limit of 7800, kept a high balance for maybe 10 months but always paid more than the minimum every month.
Then I paid 5000$ payment and they reduced my limit 5000$ hurting my credit score. This company is the worst to deal with, I could not get online for 6 months due to an upgrade process that was all to there lack of programming skills. Do yourself a big favour, stay away, you don't need them!

Asked too much info

by CraftyDev on Feb 19, 2020

I have called about 8 times now and each time they ask me for more and more information and than say I will be good to activate the next time I call and I call and they transfer me to a specialist. Why they are called specialist? They ask for a bunch of my info and yet my account is still not open. At this point when I call back tomorrow, I'm going to say I don't want to activate it and not worry about it. Because literally, a dog could give me better information. Sorry guys but you do not help at all I have had my card for almost two weeks.

Service horrible carte bloquée

by juli on Feb 2, 2020
1 out of 5 stars

On débloque ma carte.

This card is ok until you need to dispute a transaction. They are completely unhelpful. Not to be used for internet purchasing.

Fraud, negligent and dishonest

by Nicole S on Jan 24, 2020
1 out of 5 stars

I live in Toronto, I paid my owing balance in full and closed my account with PC financial, but this year when checking my credit score, I saw an outstanding balance for $92.40 and shows that I’ve been making my payments for these past two years. I didn’t. I closed my account. When I called the employees at PC Financial, all of them were very incompetent, and the best answer I got after three phone calls was that after I closed my account, a payment for $3 came through, so those three dollars are now $92.40, and now I have to pay for it. Still not the worst part of dealing with PC financial. Hang on tight. The most disappointing is that the very next day that I called PC financial, I got a scam call, very convincing to be honest, I can see how a not very smart person would fall for it. I almost did. After my surprise with PC Financial, it is not hard to conceive that someone borrowed one million dollars under my name, and now I have to pay it. These scammers had some of my information too. Yesterday, I called PC financial to ask how I can settle my account. As usual, I talked to a couple of employees with lousy English and incompetent. I am polite to them, by the way. Today, I woke up with a surprise on my visa Scotiabank. A charge for $2500 from ”Western Digital Corp 2”. Is it a coincidence that every time I contact PC Financial so that their employees get access to my private information, I get scam calls and now a steep fraudulent charge under my name? A breach of trust from a financial company is unacceptable, and they should lose their license as a financial institution.
