Just a horrible experience

by RPD1983 on Sep 11, 2020
1 out of 5 stars

I've had this card for a little while now and for the most part, try to avoid using it because of how awful their customer service is and how predatory they are. Unfortunately, when I stopped using it I accidentally left a balance of 0.06 cents on it - yes you read that right, six whole cents. When that balance interest wasn't paid they reduced my credit limit and hit my score. I called them to try and reason with what was clearly an oversight and I might as well have talked to a brick wall. Avoid at all costs!

Extremely poor customer service. No response to emails. I was so annoyed that for the first time in my life I paid off my balance and cancelled my card.

Avoid PC MasterCard

by thesummit881 on Oct 20, 2020

Got the card approved 2 months ago, 12k limit, used one time at No Frills, spent $90.00 and then Esso speed pass app. Used it twice, about $120.00 ($60*2) Then card got suspended. The same case as others, call them up, give me all about I was under their fraud alert, ask me series of questions and I told them I have been living at the same address for more than 20+ years. They, basically, ignore what I said. I spoke to them and all my security questions answered were correct, but they still claim I was under fraud monitoring. What is that? I asked to speak to that department, they said - no, then they said they will file a case onto my account and they will review it. Of course, they didn't, called them up twice every 3 days, they ask me the same stuff again, said that my card gets reactivate within 24 hours, he told me to trust him. No need to call back. Fine! 6 days later, went to Tim Horton's and tried it out, the same decline message. Call card provider, such a joke! PC MasterCard, shame on you! If you are not willing to lend, don't ask us to apply! Wasting our time and take a hit on our credit. Anyone who sees this message, AVOID them!

Avoid PC Financial Mastercard.

by BD on Sep 13, 2020

I had a PC Financial credit card for several years, and in 2020, they suspended my card for maintaining a balance for too long. Not for being overlimit, not for not making payments; simply for maintaining a balance, in spite of always keeping it under the limit and paying at least my minimum every month (often more than that). I contacted them about this and the agent claimed that this was a rule and that I'd been notified. I had not. There was no letter on record and nothing on any of my previous statements warning about this action being taken. In spite of this they refused to remove the suspension and just offered that if I made a larger payment, they could consider unsuspending. I immediately made a larger payment (IIRC about 1/4 of the balance), and they told me that wasn't enough, and that they would now unsuspend my account when the balance was paid. So in April, I paid down the remaining balance, and have maintained a zero balance since then as I intended to buy tickets with PC Travel this fall. Fast forward to today, and I attempted to buy the tickets. Turns out my card still wasn't working. I called them to enquire, and they now said that my card was marked for purging due to being unused for too long. I asked them why this was because it wasn't set to expire until July 2021, and they said that they reserve the right to purge accounts, not in use. I asked them to reconsider, under the circumstances, and given the runaround, they'd given me, but they would not. My only option would be to wait for the card to be purged and then reapply for a new card. No thank you! Stay away from PC Financial Mastercard.

Incompetent customer service

by Fed up...!!! on Jan 22, 2022
2 out of 5 stars

Recently I received a credit to my PC MasterCard from an airline company.
The corresponding credit card had been compromised so another had been issued in July 2021.
The credit balance is NOT automatically transferred to the new card & I had to phone repeatedly to request the credit of over $1500.00 to be credited to my account.
After 7 phone calls & 7 weeks of speaking with multiple people this issue was finally resolved just yesterday Jan 21/22 ( they could all see the credit was there from Dec. 12/21
This customer service is absolutely horrible. The wait times on hold are terrible. At least 1 hour or more every time you try to get through.
As soon as my credit is used up... This card will only be used for grocery items that need not be returned.
This is the 3rd time my card has been compromised & I am extremely careful with it. I expect the high credit limit has something to do with it as my wife's card has never had a problem.
Also, my card is expiring & they told me my new card was mailed out over a month ago but I have yet to receive it. When I mention this ... they don't care! Just wait!

Lowered limit effective immediately with no explanation

by Unimpressed on Jan 22, 2022

Received an email that they lowered my limit effective immediately as they felt the lower limit better suited my needs?
This directly affects your credit score. Keep this in mind when considering a card from them.

Do NOT use their M/C

by Donna on Jan 21, 2022

I had nothing owing and an excellent credit score and they cancelled my card and didn't tell me or warn me they were going to. It was embarrassing when I got my transaction declined. I waited over an hour on hold to find out why. The reason I hadn't used it in a year. Ah HELLO we're in a Pandemic where people don't really shop that much for a few reasons. If I want their card I have to apply again. NO THANKS!!!! They don't deserve my business.

PC Financial Mastercard does never answer the phone for hours

by Silvia on Jan 20, 2022
1.5 out of 5 stars

Nobody is working in answering the phone lately, they don't hire workers. It is a horrible wait time for hours and hours. I am an old lady who does not know about computers. My card was stolen, so I lost many stressful hours trying to communicate with a person. Neither the have a person to answer the comments in the virtual assistance. What a lye the "new face of the pandemic" what about saving money in HIRING PEOPLE?

Waiting time

by Peter on Jan 19, 2022

Poor customer service. Your wait time for a customer service representative will be 3 about hours. And you have to call again if the line reset your call, so you have to listen to their stupid music for another 2-3 hours…. And no answer!!!!
