CREDIT LIMIT IS SET LOW

by Mike K on Nov 14, 2021
3 out of 5 stars

The Card does offer Costco cashback, which is the only reason I applied for this Card. However, the Credit Limit is set ridiculously low. I had several previous Cards with Credit Limits set at $20,000. The credit limit was set at $2000. I have an EXCELLENT Credit score, and have had this Card for over a year, and have never defaulted or been late with a payment. I have inquired several times about having the Limit raised, only to be told by their Customer Service (which is horrible by the way), that I will be given a Credit increase "when I am eligible". I asked what the eligibility requirements were, and was told that was up to Capital One??? So, I have never received a reason why. It's unfortunate, as I easily exceed $2000 per month.

Terrible customer service

by Shadow fyr on Nov 13, 2021
1 out of 5 stars

Absolutely the worst customer service I have ever experienced in my life.
I accidentally overpaid by$1050.00 dollars. Trying to get a refund led to a pack of lies from each different person I spoke to from customer service. My bank sent 3 requests for a refund but they never got a response to their request for a refund of the overpayment.
This card has high interest with low credit limits
They treat their cardholders like Garbage when they need assistance.
My warning is to stay far far away from all Capital One credit cards. They are absolutely the worst all-around credit card company. I'm happy to hear Costco is cutting their ties to this horrible company.

Rip off! Be careful!

by Sparkle on Oct 4, 2021
1 out of 5 stars

I was not an executive Costco member so I just signed up for a Capital One Costco card to get the cashback on the Capital One Mastercard. 1.5 years down the line I cancelled my Costco membership and hence had to close CapitalOne Mastercard and I was read a disclosure that says that I have to give up all my cashback reward money and close the account. Meaning all that cashback I earned overtime was for nothing! I got zero money through 1.5 years of accumulated cashback. I feel cheated. Pls, be aware of this.

Seems unethical

by Very disturbed by this company on Sep 10, 2021
1 out of 5 stars

I think Capital One may be an unethical company. If you try to cancel your credit card you will have to forfeit any of the benefits you have earned. They also say that they will continue to let any pre-authorized payments continue to be charged to your card. If you have forgotten any annual pre-authorized payments these expenses along with interest may continue to grow on your card without your awareness because you don't get a paper bill and why would you check the balance of a credit card you believe is cancelled. Some authorities should look into this credit card company's practices. I insisted that they no longer had my permission to make any payments on my behalf. I almost want to test whether they will honour the fact that I withdrew my consent.

Capital One help the scammer

by Guang-zhe Xu on Aug 19, 2021
1 out of 5 stars

I got a scam and reported it in 5 minutes, but a Capital One customer said I have to pay even they know it is a scam as long as scammers had my information.
So, be careful using your Capital One credit card, they are really helping the scammers, not you.

Customer service

by Dave on Aug 16, 2021
1.5 out of 5 stars

This company has the worst customer service. My card wasn't working with the TAP payment and I was trying to rent a hotel room ( which I reserved with my Capital One card) I entered my pin and it kept coming up as invalid or Insufficient funds my balance was paid in full 2 days prior to me taking this vacation. I was stuck with my family (wife, and 2 kids under 10 years old) in a different city with nowhere to sleep and when I called Сapital One CUSTOMER service, I was passed to 2 different agents the last stating she was a supervisor. I explained what was happening and her response was we can bump up your limit but that will take 3 days. I kept saying my balance was paid in full I do not need a higher limit, I'm stuck without a place to sleep and my card is not working. In the end, I had to call a friend to use their card to book my hotel (embarrassing) the CUSTOMER service is terrible and I DO NOT recommend this card. I cancelled my card.

Gross service

by Ian on Aug 7, 2021
2 out of 5 stars

Terrible service! Froze my account without notification. Called Capital One after they declined my annual Wyze subscription, answered all their 'account authentication' questions and then I requested the purchase to be permitted. After being with them for over a decade the security team first demanded I submit a Government ID for their security team's scrutiny because the annual subscription to Wyze cameras was deemed a 'high risk' transaction???
Now my card is inaccessible, my account login is restricted. Thanks, Capital One, stellar job.

Terrible Customer Service

by Dacre on Jun 4, 2021

My airline provided a refund to the purchased card but it was expired but MC declined the refund although they knew there's a link to the current card.
When I questioned got 2 options.
They would investigate and contact the airline for a refund to a new card... then they changed their position....now they will send me a letter to provide my airline for the refund......So I do the leg work for them... Lazy...

So my option is to proceed to cancel my Costco MC

I'm in the process of doing...
Lots of cards out there...!!!!

Terrible customer service

The Bay ended its credit card relationship with Capital One, who then cancelled my Bay MasterCard. I then applied for a Costco MasterCard. Meanwhile, The Bay reissued my platinum MasterCard with their new carrier. I’ve heard that Costco will be ending their relationship with Capital One this year. I want to cancel my application for their card, but cannot get through to a person on the telephone, when I call, I get sent down a black hole of never-ending “push this button or push that button”. Ridiculous.

extended warranty

by Regretful Customer on Apr 7, 2021
1 out of 5 stars

The only time I needed the extended warranty I was told that I have to send the product to the service center and get estimate of the cost of repair at my own cost and send that to them and then they decide. This is exactly opposite to what they say on their documents. But I don't waste my time with these none sense, so I canceled the card. Just to put it in perspective, I used to spend around 60000k a year on this card. I am sure they won the battle....
