Very Consistent Experience

They are only interested in grabbing the money from the clients. I moved to a new place just 15km away from my old address in the same city and they increased my policy by 85% without any previous warning. Also, the bad service and on top of that they renew my policy, withdraw ahead of the first payment before even the current policy expired. Definitely there are enough reasons to make me feel robbed by this company.
I had insurance from Dominion. A part fell off a highway truck also insured by Dominion. I was hurt very bad in the accident. Dominion refused to pay for any medication. They only paid for 10 physiotherapy appointments and a psychiatrist for 2 years. They were happy to pay the private detective that followed me for 2 years 24/7. The Dr and lawyers got paid well after starving me for 8 years owing $400 000 to people for my food and medical expenses. I had no choice to take the small settlement they offered to live on the rest of my life and pay people back. I am not able to cook or care for myself. They had no care in helping me get better. The insurance company would sooner give the money to healthy people to lie for them than get the hurt people better
Did you know that on average Ontario drivers with good driving records pay $1,805/year in auto insurance? Is your insurance rate higher? Get a free car insurance quote and start saving today.
Hello, I wish I checked the reviews before accepting their policy. I don't know how to get out of it, no one answers the phone. God help me.
I got auto insurance from them 81 days ago, they still haven't sent me the pink slip. I have received 4 mails from them containing the payment options, so problem is not having wrong address on their system. The temporary card that they send via email is valid for 1 month, and basically, I've been driving my car illegally since that 1 month is passed. I've called them a few times, every time they say "we'll send it again". Still nothing. I asked them to send it with a tracking number. They said they don't have that option. I'm gonna call them one more time and if they don't send it via Express Post, I'll cancel my insurance.
Word of caution for others to NEVER give TRAVELERS/THE DOMINION your auto insurance business as profits are all that matter to them. I am going to hit up some online forums with details on my dealings with them to protect other people from landing in their claws! Going to head to the newspapers/news stations soon too... this is more than just about me now... it’s wrong and has to stop, they screw hard working injured people around to keep profits up. They should be doing the right thing and paying for an insured to get better. When it comes to insurance fraud they need to look in the mirror - they are the ones doing most of the fraud out there. If they are your insurer I urge you to change now - if not wait until you are in my shoes one day, when you have had an accident that wasn’t your fault and have continued injuries, and all they do is deny everything and send you to 12 assessments in 16 months. I am out over 10,000 likely so far... all because I was hurt in a 4 car accident - hurt from someone that rear-ended me. They don’t want to pay for the required therapies and devices for my recovery. They don’t care what helps you - but they love to instead spend their money on assessments - it’s truly games, games and more games. Our government needs to property control this industry - make them accountable for the item they sell - “a promise to protect you when you need them”.
Dealt with a guy named Corbin T. I literally had to go to the Oakville office to talk with him cause he would not return calls or emails. When I got there and gave him the policy number he didn't even know who I was or anything about the claim. It took 3 months to get anything settled. I called his boss to complain, (ROB). This guy tried to make it sound like I was out for Corbin and neglected the fact that his co-worker has no idea what's going on. After I spoke with Rob I finally got my first call from Corbin, who gave me no information or assurance anything was going to happen. The company is a joke and I wouldn't recommend them insuring anything at all.
I had someone rear end me back on Oct 27 and called up the insurance company the very same day to report the claim (travelers Canada, Oakville Office). A day later I got a call from the adjuster (Jason) who went through the details of the claim with me and recommended that I use a body shop associated with the company. I also had the option of going to a body shop of my choice but I was told that there will not be any guarantee of the work if I did. So I decided to go with Carstar. That was my first mistake. The employee at Carstar did not know what I was there for inspite of the adjuster sending him the file. I waited for a half hour even after having an appointment. I went over the damages to the car and he seemed completely disinterested without making any notes. I told him the "check engine light" was on after the accident and, did not want the car to stall for any reason while I am driving and (the car is almost 15 year old) so there may be some hidden damages which he acknowledged but let me drive out of the lot saying the car was safe to drive.
There was no followup from the adjuster for over a week. I was driving the car that in my opinion was unsafe. I left messages and no response. Once my broker got involved I got a email from Jason saying that he was following up with the body shop and hadn't hear back from them. This is over a week later. The broker sent him an email requesting that I get a rental because the car was clearly unsafe to drive which was only approved after almost 10 days. I get another call from the body shop (Carstar) asking me to come back at the end of Nov because they could provide insurance with a complete estimate. Very unprofessional and still no update from the adjuster.
I had to get the manager involved (Robert) who told me that I could take the car to a body shop of my choice. I refused to go back to Carstar because of their incompetence. I told the manager that the adjuster assigned to the case was clearly not responding to my emails or calls and his response was that he was working on it. Long story short, its been over 5 weeks and still haven't had this claim settled. I will go out of my way to tell each person I know and others to avoid Travelers insurance and Carstar.
Someone rear ended my vehicle. After getting the accident report all I had to do was to call and get a claim initiated. The claims associate was thorough and courteous. Set up everything, including a rent a car booking for me. She gave me an address of repair shop that offers warranty, as they are their approved vendor, which was optional for me.
Got the car repaired in a couple of days and had a great customer experience. I was quite impressed.
Please contact me and i will explain how they steal my money- contract was 248 $ per month, since I am new to Canada.. But agent was charging me 337$. I have video where Rami from Edmonton admitted that they did wrong in Toronto and took more money that they could, but there is no Mercy and I dont know whom to sue in court, They took my money from my account even though I have all emails with my price per month and all answers fro Rami B. and Hadeel C.
That proves all what i am saying now. They are thiefs and cheaters.
Don't go to Dominion because they will crook you too.
Dominion cheaters - Karma never sleeps. Branislav G.

Firstly, I'd like to say that I read the previous reviews and I want to express heartfelt empathy for the experiences of others that have posted on this site about negative experiences. I've been with Travelers (Chieftain/Dominion) for approx 10 years. I've had 2 accidents (roughly 10 years apart), neither at fault, no tickets or any other claims. Both my home and auto policies are with them. I have accident forgiveness and my rates didn't increase as a result of the accidents. The claims process was honest and straightforward. My broker handled a lot of the details for me, and I was connected with agents from Travelers as needed. Rental cars were covered, repairs were done promptly and as expected. The one thing that was negative on the repairs to my car is that due to the age of my car (4 years old at the time), I couldn't get a new OEM part covered. I had to go aftermarket for the bumper I needed or else have the shop buff/repair the existing bumper. Minor thing, I just wasn't aware of it and surprises aren't fun during these processes. Not a huge deal. Overall, I didn't get run-around from the company during a claim.
