Their insurance is way higher than the other, so I decided to cancel it. Then they charged me $300 cancellation fee without letting you know. I become very frustrated and called them. Their attitude is like- so what? I am not going to refund you. Sue me!
It's been like 4 months of fighting with my adjuster that never answers. Plus can't even get back to my lawyer and I have found out that they shorted me a whole month of pay plus some weeks and are in no hurry to help you out if you can't work because of the accident. They love not giving me my income replacement but love still asking for my 200$ Insurance. This company is a joke. I am a good customer that never missed a payment before or after the accident. Still, nothing shows for it. Just a bunch of thieves!
Did you know that on average Ontario drivers with good driving records pay $1,805/year in auto insurance? Is your insurance rate higher? Get a free car insurance quote and start saving today.
It looks they don't know that time is going and lots of changes have happened in the last 20 years. They operate like it's the mid-1990s now. Everything by mail or phone with over 30-min. Waiting time... Wake up, Johnson. It's 2019. Everyone except for you have moved to the new era of communications. Someone wrote below it's a waste of time to communicate with Johnson, and it's certainly true.
Calling the company - waste of time! They don't have customer service! Agents are very rude people!
Had an at fault collision a month ago. It took over a week to get any information from them about a payout. I was moving out of town and could never get hold of my adjuster, she was either out of the office and no one was covering for her, never answered her phone and kept telling me the "cheque was being sent".
I had dealings with Wawanesa in the past and they were prompt, friendly and got things done.
I will be changing my provider at the next renewal.
I had an accident on January 1st, 2019. I’m insured with Johnson Insurance (Unifund). It’s been 5 months and I still don’t have a date for when I will have my vehicle back. After repeat inquiries that gave no answers I simply get the feeling they just don’t care about not having my vehicle for almost half a year. Although the accident was not my fault, I’m suffering all of the consequences and I’m insurer is fine with it. I would never recommend this insurance company.
It's been two months and counting and I haven't been issued my payment. Even after the claim was excepted and signed. I will be cancelling my insurance once I, finally, receive payment. Stay away from this company. The reviews are correct! This company is a scam! They will postpone your claim, so you get a bottom dollar for your vehicle.
I have been with this company for 15 years. Initially, I had great service with them until I made a second at-fault claim within 5 years. I had not been informed that they changed their policy to not renew after 2 at-fault claims in 5 years instead of 3, the industry standard. They did not take into consideration the fact I had been with them for 15 years and had only 2 at-fault claims and no traffic violations. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. Let everyone know. Unethical companies need to know that these business practices are not OK and that we have power as consumers to demand better treatment.
I would give them a zero if this was an option. I had 2 not-at-fault claims with them in the past few years. The speed, quality and professionalism both of the claims were handled very terrible and below any standards. In the first case, it was almost impossible to talk to someone who knew where the claim was at. An adjuster has been assigned to me after I followed up with them after almost 2 weeks from leaving the non-drivable vehicle at a shop. The second claim was even worse. I had to keep calling them every few days to see what is going on as everyone was telling me some other story and keeping in the dark for 2 weeks. I just cancelled the policy with them as I had enough of how they handle everything.
They are not a very good company. I had a bad experience where I was dropped after two "at faults" in five years. I use the term "at faults" liberally, because they define it very liberally, and without evidence. My second "at fault" had no police report and no one to state that I was wrong. The only feedback they had was from me, who told them the truth. They dropped me anyways, even though I had been with them for more than twelve years. When I tried to appeal it to them, and the third party they dealt with (ClaimsPro) my calls, emails and letters were not returned or I would be strung-along. They did not treat me like a real human being or a valued customer. They strung me along and set me up to fail. Basically, they have bad customer service. They also outsource a lot and it's hard to reach people when you need them.
