Aviva sucks

One claim submitted and paid out without any hassels based on quote from garage.
During a claim, my comments and suggestions were ignored. No settlement was reached until nearly 9 months after the accident; referral to my lawyer was the only thing that brought action.
Called agent who asked if the car was drivable which it was. Told me to get a copy of the accident report from the police and fax it to her. I did the next day and was asked where I wanted it repaired. I was told to take to the shop and to get them to call. I did what they asked and was told to take it in the next day. There was a bit of a problem with the deductible which was resolved before the repairs had been completed. No problems throughout the whole experience.
the claims experience was quite reasonable in the claim I had. The adjuster was fair and the claim was paid out in good time
Good experience. They've done what I asked and my one claim was hassle free.

Had 1 claim because my husband hit a chunk of ice and put a hole in my bumper. Aviva paid for the repairs, no problem, but then it came time to renew our insurance. They sent us a ridiculous application form to fill out that unless you're in the business, no way can you do it. Gave almost zero instructions as to how to fill out the form. So we did our best, they returned it saying "incomplete" but not telling us what we missed. Finally got it all filled out and I paid $14.50 to Express mail it because they give you a deadline. Well, the address that they provided decided to redirect it so it did not get received in time. Called to check that they got it, was told no, so I asked several times "does that mean you are dropping out insurance", took 4 times of asking the same question to finally get an answer and yes, they were not renewing our insurance. Moral of the story: Aviva is ok, just don't make the mistake of filing a claim, they will find a way to drop your insurance. They are happy to take your money but if you cost them any, you get the boot. Btw, first accident claim ever...in over 35 yrs of driving
