Terrible customer service plus does not pay out on trip interruption claim when another local provincial insurer paid our friend. Equivalent trip interruption claim for the identical trip
Allianz rejected our trip interruption claim, citing fine print on back policy pages states that due to factors out of their control, policy becomes null & void. They also took over 3 months and numerous calls, before staff responded.
Even their front line staff felt we should be reimbursed.
I purchased insurance for concert tickets. I wound up not being able to go. They claim it gives you peace of mind in case something comes up. Turns out they don’t cover a GD thing. They only cover “specific reasons” in order for a claim to be approved, and apparently, you need to be losing a kidney in order for it to be a qualifying reason!
We made a cancellation which was handled by Allianz Global Assistance, to recover our flight costs after my wife had an operation and treatment for cancer. All this happened months after we booked the flight but during the 10 months, it took Allianz to process our claim they reviewed her family doctor records and discovered that she'd contacted him for a stomach ache prior to booking our flight. They denied our claim basically saying that we should have known from the stomach ache that she had cancer and not proceeded with the booking. They also claimed that one of the surgeons told us not to go on our holiday. This is true, but it happened after her surgery, two months after we'd booked the flight. So they used information out of context to justify their denial. If the travel insurance benefit of this card is important to you, maybe consider a different card.
I had to cancel two Sphere tickets for my elderly mother and myself. My mother is 85 and decided she is not healthy enough physically or mentally to travel to Vegas. Tried to file a claim on Allianz website and it cannot find the policy despite pulling up the correct record using the policy number. Called to speak to a rep. and he agreed to file it for me but tells me that I have to have a doctor's note essentially as supporting documentation. The email I received after the claim was filed indicates that the tickets are only covered up to $200, when I paid $383. Such a scam.
