The Johnson/Unifund is unreliable, untrustable and Big JOKE... I was paying 1900$ for my auto insurance till 2016 with No Accident. I had one accident forgiveness option with this company. 2017 I had a minor accident and my car is repaired by the Unifund. In 2018 my insurance premium increased to 2273$, 2018 again increased to 2446$ and last week I got renewal documents and it shows the amount 3031$. 500$ jump. I called them they said this year we increased everyone! I email often but NO Reply, I asked them to send me in written why and which reason you increased my auto insurance premium even I had one At Fault Accident Forgiveness... No Reply No mail... So, if you don't want to take a headache and save money, please go to other companies BUT never deal with this company.
Like other users' comments. I have a pristine driving record. No accidents no tickets, and I have never missed a payment! Yesterday received my renewal at more than double what I'm paying currently. The customer service representative told me she could save me $12.00 a month possibly. Increase due to keeping with competitive rates. I am taking my business somewhere else! This kind of increase is absolutely unacceptable and I'm disgusted!

Every year the price increased to 23-30% no matter you have accidents/tickets or NOT...
Today I received renewal and the price is almost increased to 30% more compared to last year. I called and they said due to some factors it is increased? Which factors? No Accident, No Tickets however it is increased... Unbelievable... Most terrible insurance company... Stay away!
Terrible service. Don't waste your money with this company. Passed around from representative to representative because no one follows up. No straight answers or clear understanding given just send changes with letters stating taking more money with no explanation. Very disappointed and unhappy
I'm not sure why service agents want customers to be untruthful..so it can benefit the company..are they in need for that much money? Long story short. The agent tried to coerce me into saying something that was false even repeatedly answering the question with no, he wanted me to say yes so my premium would increase. I was uncomfortable and disgusted by the lack of professionalism that was displayed. I no longer had any trust because anything could happen later in the long run. The insurance is based on lies and is deceitful. Please be cautious of their gouging tactics.
Their insurance is way higher than the other, so I decided to cancel it. Then they charged me $300 cancellation fee without letting you know. I become very frustrated and called them. Their attitude is like- so what? I am not going to refund you. Sue me!
Agent penalized me for cancelling after the renewal date, which was a lot more than expected. Again called to confirm cancellation and got different numbers from another agent. For my satisfaction, they told me it’s the date when you cancel the insurance matters and the premium but we can’t calculate, it’s the system that tells us. Do not fall prey to this bad service where initially they give less amount and later rip off customers.
I would give less stars if I could. I have been with them since 2009 with no claims. Well, unfortunately in the last two years I have had to make two claims. Today I got the phone call that I’ve read so much about in reviews. They are dropping me. I was able to switch companies for a slight increase, unlike their affiliate that they recommended, who wanted $3600 a year for my SUV. No thanks.
Johnson Insurance does not respect its customers. Customers are just a simple way to make money. They even don't care about Loyal Customers even those with a good record. They can just increase prices and basically, tell you that ''You pay it or you go shop around to find better''. Very disappointed
