Don't waste ur time or money! I've been trying to cancel my policy for 2 months and they keep taking payments out of my account. I was basically just told my account will be cancelled if I call my bank and put a stop payment on them. Wow is all I can say...... I have never had such bad customer service.
I've had RSA for my home and auto insurance for some time simply because they were the cheapest provider my Broker had offered. They are impossible to contact for customer service and I have spent 2 hours over the last two weeks trying to contact them to make a one time adjustment to my payment schedule due to starting a new job. I was unable to ever actually talk to anyone and now I've racked up 3 NSF fees waiting for my first pay at my new job. They don't try to contact you at all and will just nonstop bill your account.
Over the last 4 years every experience I've had dealing with them, whether adding or adjusting policies or trying to make payment arrangements jas been a nightmare.
If they were 50% cheaper then a competitor I would still avoid them and I am switching to a new provider today.
If you have a good driving record in AB, you should pay around $110/month (women - $105/month and men - $113/month). Do you overpay? Get an Alberta car insurance quote to start saving.
First of all i get double charged every month then, when I cancel, they take more money out of my account. This place is a disgrace to humanity and should be shut down for theft and disorganization. I pay 50$ a day and it wont stop. I'm tired of this - do not use royal and sun unless you want to be ripped off and forgot about cause. They dont even have a real phone number
RSA kept taking money from my bank account for almost a year after I asked them to cancel my policy (sold my car, bought a new one, moved to a different province - I thought it would be straightforward to cancel the policy and start over with the new car...). They kept saying I needed to go through my broker, and my broker kept submitting the forms to them, but the policy wouldn't be cancelled, and the next month they would withdraw money again, and I'd repeat the process. Eventually, I started cancelling the automatic withdrawals, which worked for a while until I forgot one month and they took a whole bunch of money that month - I guess because I had been blocking the withdrawals for a while. Turns out once you fill out the automatic bank withdrawal forms, they're impossible to undo... Anyways, I got really mad at them after that and they finally cancelled the policy, although I didn't get any of the money from the past year back.
This was a runaround in every sense of the word-they NEVER returned calls, my adjuster switched but they didn't tell me or give me their new contact info, they tried to get me into a bargain body shop rather than one that would repair to spec, they tried to sneak after market parts on, wouldn't pay for winter tires on the rental even though my car had winters, tried to prorate my carseat, and on and on and on. I know a lot of these reviews are written by people who are impossible to get along with but I am a pretty reasonable dude and had nothing but problems with RSA from start to finish. Do not waste your time with them.
Why have you increased my auto premium by almost 29% = $386 more than last year! I have had no claims, nor any tickets. I am retired and definitely do not deserve what you've done!! What's my recourse - social media? - changing insurance companies? - definitely, need to tell everyone what you've done!

Horrible experience. RSA decided to renew my policy without contacting me or even letting me know by sending an e-mail or mail. Raised my premium an extra $223.32 a month. I have had no accidents or tickets. HOW DOES THIS WORK!!! After cancelling my policy with them and having a signed document that they have received my cancellation, they still went ahead and took out over $450.00 out of my account not once but twice. How do you go from paying $226.00 a month to over $450? RSA CAN YOU EXPLAIN??? DONT USE THIS COMPANY EVER UNLESS YOU WANT TO DEAL WITH STRESS AND LIES!!!
