Three years ago, I cancelled my auto insurance on car "A" when I obtained car "B". Or at least that's what I requested. Three years later, I discovered that TD had continued to withdraw payments from my account every month. When I called to have TD address this, and even though I have been a TD Insurance customer for 30 years for my home and two cars, they said that they would reimburse me in the total amount of....$0!
Not very smart TD. I will gladly sue (and seek interest and cost), use every social media outlet available, and cancel my TD insurance accounts (for which I have paid TD over $100K in my lifetime).

Argued for 3 weeks

I was rear ended at a high rate of speed on the Gardiner, my car needed a new bumper, trunk, and gas tank. They bullied me into going to a 'recommended' shop (carstar), where carstar originally quoted me at 1600. When I contested the price, they came back in sheer spite and said 2400 for repairs. After 3 weeks of back and forth arguing with them to repair my truck, they refused to even touch it, and nothing was done at Carstar. This is after 3 weeks people.
They offered me 1600 to go get it repaired wherever I wanted to, but I would take on the responsibility for my own repairs. Hello? Who was at fault here? I was rear ended. They didn't even respond to my message about the massage therapy and the chiropractor. My adjustor refused to write anything in an email, and just wanted me to sign for a cheque. Obviously she knew she was violating my rights as a claimant and didn't want me to go to a lawyer with evidence.
Eventually, after 10+ phone calls, a manager approved the repairs at the mechanic of MY choice. Except it was my responsibility to organize a tow truck to take it there at MY expense. Luckily I had CAA roadside assistance to help.
My recommendation when dealing with them is to have everything done via email, so you have a paper trail when you require your own lawyer and appraiser to get out there and give you the true value of your vehicle. Stay away from TD, they do not have your back even when you are the victim.
