I have been a customer of MBNA for over 21 years for my business and have been in good standing. An error caused by another bank resulted in late payments to all creditors, including taxes for the gov't, insurance, and mortgage payments. All waived their late payment/NSF fees because of the context and were very sympathetic, particularly because this has not happened in the past. On the other hand, MBNA closed and blocked my account without my knowledge (I found out by chance while activating the new credit card they sent me) over $48, and when I explained the error from the other bank, they responded that they treat everyone (i.e., someone in good standing vs someone who claimed bankruptcy) equally. Terrible service and inequitable policies override any potential benefits. Other banks are more people-centred.
