We applied through a mortgage broker and the responses we saw were quick and courteous. They offered the standard rates with the most payment options without penalty and the security of a large bank.

The mortgage has been fine. But we had to extend our offer once because it wasn't ready in time. The financing clause expired and the day of the second expiry we didn't get the approval until 10 minutes before closing. Hairy for us the seller and the broker.

went through mortgage Broker and found that it was terrible trying to communicate with national bank. We took the variable at a 2.45% under the impression that we could lock it in at anytime which turned out not to be the case. Our questions were only clarified months after the fact and no the mortgage was not set up properly
