Travel Booking with Scene+

In July when I was ready to book travel I attempted to use my AMEX Platinum Card and I was forced to use Scene+ to book this travel because this card is associated with the Scene program through Scotiabank. This was only the beginning of the nightmare. I booked the ticket and I had to cancel it due to a family issue. When I attempted to rebook, the cost of the new ticket was $300 less than the original ticket and I was told that I would have to pay $200 extra - basically, this change would cost me $500 plus the cost of the original ticket - a total cost of $2,100. I also found out that the original ticket costs were paid not directly to the airline but to Sceneplus and that Sceneplus travel is actually Expedia. I contacted Sceneplus and was on the phone for more than 1hr with someone who did not speak English properly and had no idea what they were doing/saying, I requested a Manager and was told someone would call me back within 24 hours, but I never got a call. I then contacted Scotiabank the people who directed me to this ridiculous program and was told that I couldn't dispute the charge on my card and that I needed to contact Scenplus directly - again!! A lack of any responsibility on their part. So again, I contacted Sceneplus and was told a Manager would call me back within 24hrs. I am still waiting for this call, it has been two days! This is one of the biggest SCAMS ever and I am still waiting for my $2,100 to be refunded. Expedia is a service that I would have never used! I am incredibly disappointed and angry that Scotiabank would deliberately abuse my trust like this. I have been a customer with them for more than 20 years and trusted that the service that they led me to would be responsible and valuable to me, their customer. The service at Expedia (Sceneplus) has been atrocious and they are refusing to refund my monies. I would like to warn anyone else who is planning to use this SCAM travel service. Please note that Scotiabank will not help you with any issue and that you are dealing with a third-party EXPEDIA and you will not receive any type of customer service that will assist you. DO NOT BOOK HERE - CANCEL ANY SCENEPLUS CARD YOU HAVE THAT YOU WANT TO USE FOR TRAVEL. This has been a nightmare - please be aware..!!
