Purchased insurance at $1650 from broker received my policy in the mail at $2355. Dominion refused to honor their quote!!! All the information given to my broker was %100 accurate. 10/10 would not recommend.
Accident - Dominion client at fault, and charged with turn not in safety. Our SUV being fixed in shop one week now. They (Dominion) have still not replied to my insurance company, one week later. I am not paying the deductable.
Signed, not at fault. Mad as hell!
The Dominion Insurance, you suck.
Did you know that on average Ontario drivers with good driving records pay $1,805/year in auto insurance? Is your insurance rate higher? Get a free car insurance quote and start saving today.
I had insurance through dominion, I missed a payment called my broker and let him know he said they would take it the following month they never did though so I was under the impression it was cancelled. Appently I was wrong they never tried again 3 months later my insurance would've ended. So what did they do, they renewed my insurance for a another year without me knowing them at the end of that cancelled it for non payment and sent it to collections 7 months later for over a years worth of insurance when they stopped taking the money out after I missed 1 payment. This place will screw you over and financially screw you as well. I will never deal with dominion ever again this place is a joke when I talked to them about it they said it going to stand and I will have to fight with collections about it so I guess the courts will deal with this one.
I was rear ended in an accident this past December. As of this month I have lost my house and missed time from work, suffered injuries in a not at fault accident and insurance has told me that I am getting zero. Actually, that's not correct, I was sent FOUR DOLLARS. I am seriously struggling and all my adjustor can say is "what do you want me to say?" How about instead of refusing everything, how about be glad that I am not asking for two months of wages in full, I am asking for the time I missed (I was told not to work but I can't afford not to) which is far less than the whole amount that they would be responsible for. Nope. I get a big fat four dollars. I've had to expedite my claim to have it re assessed by the adjustors direct supervisor and I have had to make a complaint with the company ombudsman and soon the government ombudsman. I have had to get a lawyer as well. Just stay away from this company. Even if you're on your way to work and get rear ended, they won't give you a penny.
Oh and I was sent someone elses confidential medical records and claims forms in the mail as well.
Had my vehicle stolen over the weekend, no support provided until the adjuster returned to work Monday morning. Very inconvenient!!! Stranded without a vehicle in a strange city for the weekend, missed work Monday morning due to no vehicle.
If you have a good driving record in AB, you should pay around $110/month (women - $105/month and men - $113/month). Do you overpay? Get an Alberta car insurance quote to start saving.
I had the wrong banking information on file and missed a payment, so they cancelled me. Also making my premium go way up and my vehicle was disabled until I found another company. I would STRONGLY recommend going anywhere else unless you want to waste a ton of time and money on this company.
Got a low quote from what I thought was surex.
Never got sent documents after asking twice. Paid a bunch of extra money the first month. After about 6 month's of paying the same payments, I was getting charged an extra $60 a month time and time again. What kind of BS is that? All this extra money coming out randomly for the last 7 months with no explanation and still no documents. This place is a joke and I see why the rating is God awful. Will be canceling immediately. I do not recommend this company what so ever. Sad times getting robbed during covid.
Very affordable insurance prices, but if you, actually, need to deal with the insurance company, expect a call back in 4 months. Also, you need to keep calling for updates. When you do finally get a hold of someone, keep in mind that they sound like they don't want to talk, they have better things to do. If you want to feel worried if they're going to fight for you, and if you have the patience to wait for a call back in a few months, then you shouldn't have any issues here at all.
Recently, I switched to Travelers (Dominion) because I got a call from a guy who works at Surex which is a broker company stating that he can get me a good quote for auto insurance for two cars I own and he lied saying that but that is only possible if I buy tenant insurance as well. While buying the insurance plan I asked him that I’m planning to sell one of my cars in the middle of the one-year insurance term so will the discount still continue and he said yes. Now I got rid one of the vehicles and they just removed $20 from my monthly bill cycle and when I tried cancelling the insurance he told me about the cancellation fee which he never mentioned about it until I decide to cancel what a ripoff! Worst experience ever, I would suggest not to deal with Travelers (Dominion)
Wouldn't fix the car properly after the accident. They installed "used" parts and now there is an loud low whining sound while driving. Gas mileage has gone up 41% since "repair". Garage says that the problem is a part that needs to be replaced (cost:$2000) but the appraiser says it existed before the accident. How does he know?? Did he drive my vehicle without my knowing it? The adjuster was totally indifferent to my and the repair shops inquiries and her manager was just as uncaring. It was as if my bloated monthly premiums didn't matter. I'm tired of the Insurance Industry ripping off Ontarian's. We pay some of the highest premiums in the country (and a hell of a lot more than in the States!) and get less service for the money!
That's why I'm encouraging socialized auto insurance in Ontario. If B.C. can have it why can't we?
