The Worst Warranty and Customer Service I Ever Had

After being with IA for over 15 years I made my first claim this year 2022. What an experience, IA charges you the top rate for replacement cost insurance based on the purchase price. However, when it's time to pay out on the policy they refuse to pay even the purchase price of the vehicle. They say that they can get the vehicle at a lower price as they are paying in cash. They lied!!!!!! I paid the vehicle cost price. They could not purchase the vehicle cheaper than I did.
Customer impact:
I lost $10,000.00 (10k less than what I paid for the vehicle).
Months of making payments on a vehicle you no longer own or have.
No vehicle post 30 days of the theft.
This company steals your money!!! I would NEVER insure anything with this company again. BUYER BEWARE!!!! GO TO ANY OTHER COMPANY!!!!
I had to claim 3 times and each time was worst than the case previously. The reps are not nice, not knowledgeable and the company tried to deny me my rights of insurance when legally my car warranty was with them and it had manufactured defaults and still they try and pull a fast one. Stay away with anything stamped industrial alliance and thank me later
If you have a good driving record in AB, you should pay around $110/month (women - $105/month and men - $113/month). Do you overpay? Get an Alberta car insurance quote to start saving.
My father bought this insurance for his vehicle, after catching pneumonia he was hospitalized for over a month, and off work for multiple months. He paid extra to ensure his payments would be covered during illness. He was denied coverage for the vehicle payments while he was off work. (I truly don't know what type of illness they would cover if they do not cover this). He returned to work and suddenly passed a few months later. It has been many months since his death and IA has not covered anything. All paperwork has been sent multiple times which they continuously lose and they claim they have not yet received it. They have made a horrible time for our family even worse with financial burdens. DO NOT EVER purchase any type of insurance through this company, ever.
French customer support barely know how to speak English and are rude. They cancel your insurance without warning. They are not good for road assistance. They say it is on the way just to leave you stranded.
I purchased extended warranty from Birchwood Toyota in Winnipeg through SAL (Industrial Alliance Insurance and Financial Services Inc.) for a 2016 Honda, with the option to cancel the extended warranty within a month and receive a full refund. I submitted the completed cancellation form within a few days of purchase and more than two months later I have received nothing but apologies from SAL along with an email that Birchwood would deal with my cancellation right away, but have yet to be contacted by Birchwood a week later.
Did you know that on average Ontario drivers with good driving records pay $1,805/year in auto insurance? Is your insurance rate higher? Get a free car insurance quote and start saving today.
Dealership added the extended warranty on the car when we reached them to cancel this out after one month, they said it cannot be cancelled, you have to keep it for next 5 years and you have to pay for it

One week to get my car towed (after hours and hours of calls), I needed to pay a fee even if I'm not supposed to if I get it towed to my retailer. At some point, I even waited for the tow truck to come for 2 hours because they told me it'll be there in a couple of minutes... Only to call them and be told that nobody would show up until late in the night, when the retailer would be close.
It's been three days since the retailer's garagist is trying to contact them and their agents can't even tell him if the warranty is covering what's broken. Horrible service all the way, and that's when they answer.
If you want to pay to have the equivalent of a parent never getting back with that bag of milk, they certainly got you covered!
