I've been on hold for hours yesterday just to ask a simple question about my claim. Called yesterday afternoon was put on hold till closing time so no one to talk to. Called first thing this morning and have been on hold for over an hour. Gonna have to hang up to go to my work soon. Who has time for this?

Very hard to make claims

I had a car accident on Friday. The car repair shop was not arranged. I called back Sunday the representative did not want to find a repair shop for me ask me to wait for an adjuster. I called again another representative suggested me go to the assured collision center. I went there and they said dod have my paper and want me to call insurance to send the paper. Since then I made many time phone calls and waited on the phone for hours nobody answers the phone. The automatic system told me to do it online but the online claim does not work. In beginning, a representative told me that the adjuster will contact me within 58 hours. But 4 days passed no one contacted me. I have to say it very bad customer service. I don’t know when can I get my car fixed.

Don't use

I had 1 claim in 20 years - someone uses my vehicle and cause a small scratch and crack to fender on truck get mail saying cancelling collision cause of 2 claims in 4 years lol I wouldn't recommend this company to anyone. There impossible to get ahold of and just runs you around had to call a supervisor which then gives you a number to call leave a message still no callback. It's a very poor company.

If you have a good driving record in AB, you should pay around $110/month (women - $105/month and men - $113/month). Do you overpay? Get an Alberta car insurance quote to start saving.

They don't care

We had home/auto/recreational vehicle insurance with Johnson Unifund, for 6 years. I was rear-ended (no-fault) first incident I've ever had having to make an insurance claim in 40 years of driving. I was assigned a claims person, this person never returned voicemails, emails in 3 months, I had to escalate my complaint to a supervisory position, in turn, I was told that they are "overwhelmed" at the moment as was really no help what so ever. It took me 4 months of constant calling only to hold for up to 45 minutes, to get my car repaired. At a time when a person is in an injured state, dealing with doctors and therapists, then having to fight to get the repairs completed in a timely manner was unacceptable these people truly do not care for their customers well being, just keep increasing rates and collecting their money, we have taken our insurance needs elsewhere, do yourself a favour and pass this company by.

Treat customers disgustingly

by Pebb on Aug 4, 2020

Every time I call they say they're busy and will be with me in 20 minutes. After an hour of being on hold, I finally get connected. Would it be so damn hard to have a callback feature? The way they treat their customers is disgusting...

On hold for over 40 min

One claim experience, complete disorganization and customer care. Anytime you'd like to call for the information you'll be waiting 30-40 minutes plus. Auto insurance pricing and how they manage the rates are all over the map. I've had $95, $122 and $191 per month in the past 3 years.

Worst Service Ever

I have a terrible experience with this insurance, find a better one instead. I have to wait 2 hours until someone will pick-up the phone, then the call will be off on their end and directed it to somewhere. Frustrated by their adjusters as you ask questions they tend to give you an attitude. They are not willing to assist and help. What's the point of cheaper insurance if they are unreachable?! Go find a broker instead that will give you a better offer.

Avoid

You may find a good rate with them but they have the worst customer service. Long wait times on the phone and once you get a hold of them they provide absolutely no help. They do not care about your concern. Any change you do to your policy your premiums will go up without your notice.

Terrible Service

by Tanya O on Jun 5, 2020

My sister in law died suddenly. We have been trying for 3 weeks solid to reach an agent, have an email returned or any form of communication during this tragic time. We have no way of moving forward or cancelling or doing anything until somebody calls us back. We can't believe that this is an insurance company that should be at the ready for clients who are paying good money. We would like somebody to help us.

Did you know that on average Ontario drivers with good driving records pay $1,805/year in auto insurance? Is your insurance rate higher? Get a free car insurance quote and start saving today.

The worst insurance EVER

No customer support at all, after waiting hours, literally hours on hold they cannot do anything over the phone. Their customer portal is a joke, most of the time it does not work and they redirect you to call them like in the '90s everything is phone-based. Cancelling the insurance is a pain, they will jack up the rates like crazy, for anything even minor stuff. I really do not recommend Johnson/Unifund Insurance at all.
