Hey RSA. Your adjusters are horrible, lazy and incompetent. Not one of them has shown any empathy on my no-fault accident/claim and it's been 4 months now and I've received no compensation for the loss of my vehicle. They don't answer phone calls and don't return calls. Everyone beware. Avoid this company, RSA Group and its affiliates, Unifund, Johnson, and Morgex.
RSA kept taking money from my bank account for almost a year after I asked them to cancel my policy (sold my car, bought a new one, moved to a different province - I thought it would be straightforward to cancel the policy and start over with the new car...). They kept saying I needed to go through my broker, and my broker kept submitting the forms to them, but the policy wouldn't be cancelled, and the next month they would withdraw money again, and I'd repeat the process. Eventually, I started cancelling the automatic withdrawals, which worked for a while until I forgot one month and they took a whole bunch of money that month - I guess because I had been blocking the withdrawals for a while. Turns out once you fill out the automatic bank withdrawal forms, they're impossible to undo... Anyways, I got really mad at them after that and they finally cancelled the policy, although I didn't get any of the money from the past year back.
Did you know that on average Ontario drivers with good driving records pay $1,805/year in auto insurance? Is your insurance rate higher? Get a free car insurance quote and start saving today.
New to RSA (referred by my broker in Nov 2017), I have a clean driving record despite the fact I drive an adapted vehicle (permanent disability). My premiums are more $, as my broker explained I am a higher risk (!). Feb 2018 (stopped in traffic), I was hit hard from behind by another vehicle. The impact caused me to collide with the vehicle in front of me. I am suffering from accident-related injuries. I cannot drive a rental vehicle (due to my car's adaptation) which means out of pocket cabs will be reimbursed ONLY when RSA gets around to it. Rick, RSA's Auto appraiser (on site) advised me to " take my car wherever I wish for repairs". 7 weeks later, Melissa, RSA's auto adjuster indicated the delay I am experiencing with repairs is because I did not take my car to one of RSA's " preferred repair shops" (gasp) contrary to what Rick advised. Completely unprofessional. Disgraceful that over 2.5 months post accident my car is still not repaired. Hoping one day someone will be able to help remove my damaged plates and accompany me to Service Ontario for replacement. RSA will not. It's not an extraordinary expectation to believe my car will be repaired to pre-accident condition. Dealing with RSA's injury claim? Shameful. Sara is not helpful. She threatens with mountains of paperwork and demands to complete in a short time...or deal with cancellation of health benefits (physio, etc) as a result of someone else's driving neglect. An injury can only heal with care, not abuse, which is exactly what I am receiving from RSA. I was the victim. RSA is treating me as if I am the perpetrator. I have experienced inappropriate conduct from this company (very eager to receive premiums) with both auto and health. I plan to cancel my policy when my car is repaired. For my future protection. Save yourself aggravation and your hard earned $: DO NOT USE RSA AUTO INSURANCE.
This was a runaround in every sense of the word-they NEVER returned calls, my adjuster switched but they didn't tell me or give me their new contact info, they tried to get me into a bargain body shop rather than one that would repair to spec, they tried to sneak after market parts on, wouldn't pay for winter tires on the rental even though my car had winters, tried to prorate my carseat, and on and on and on. I know a lot of these reviews are written by people who are impossible to get along with but I am a pretty reasonable dude and had nothing but problems with RSA from start to finish. Do not waste your time with them.
Went with them because they have coverages to suit retired couples
RSA car insurance company is the worst insurance company. I don’t know why they are still exists. They make you wait 3 weeks for a claim and they always have an excuse that their system is down and that they are waiting for the other parties approval. What has the insurer to do with the other party? They are crooks and never ever insure your car with them because you will regret!!!!
Absolute worst insurance company!
Take forever to approve claims and take 2 weeks to reply to emails from all parties involved (body shop, customer, and car rental, and then they blame every other party for their lack of response.
Our car was totalled, with both kids riding with me, and this company has been absolutely useless. Getting any information from them has been nearly impossible and what we do get is fragmented and/or at least partially false, they do not return phone calls or emails, important questions are going unanswered. We have had to do everything that our adjuster should be helping with on our own. Since initial contact, we have not even heard from our adjuster. A supervisor finally answered the phone 8 days after the crash and provided minimal answers, but, again, gave wrong information.
They authorized our car to be moved to an auction lot without our consent, but wouldn't tell us where it was. When we went to collect belongings, most of them had gone missing.
I wish I could rate it 0/5.
Was misinformed and this cost me thousands of dollars! Please, don't use this company unless you truly have money to give away... The highest prices in Ontario and will not lower rates for professional experienced drivers! Only charge a 3500 cancellation fee for going to a company with a reasonable rate. Please, stay away from this company!
One of the agents was completely incompetent. They told me I would get money for a no-fault accident claim but because I'm on WCB it would be subtracted from that. So, after two weeks of waiting and getting my doctor to fill out paperwork, they tell me there won't be any income replacement for me. They kept on questioning my injuries over and over again, which was starting to really get under my skin, and the one thing I never do is lie.
