I called La Capitale for a submission. I had 2 insurance claims for NON RESPONSIBLE small accidents in the last 5 years. They said they are not interested to send me a submission. I will never call back and I promise I will spread the story to the largest network I can reach.
I had a vandalism claim in my file since 2016. Capital just opened the file and they couldn't cover it after 10 days they close the claim. This claim was counted as a claim from all other insurance and couldn't get other quotes. The other 3 claims weren't my fault 3 hit and run during the last 5 years. Even if it's not your fault you still be excluded from getting insurance. I don't recommend Le Capital.
If you have a good driving record in AB, you should pay around $110/month (women - $105/month and men - $113/month). Do you overpay? Get an Alberta car insurance quote to start saving.
Une commis mangeait et baillait au téléphone, tellement non chalante, je suis surement terminer le contract avec cette compagnie là.
Do not use this insurance. The supervisors care more about the $ than keeping loyal clients. I had windshield replacement to do and when I arrived at the service station, I was told I had $500 deductible when it should have been max $250, as agreed upon over the phone. Our collision deductible is $500! We called La Capitale and they admit it was their fault that it didn't reflect the same agreed upon info in the contract. Our rep tried to amend our insurance policy and her supervisor advised her not to, he didn't want to help in any way. He clearly decided that losing a client was better than amending the contract they had made a mistake on. I am now out $250 and looking for a new insurance company of course. Take your money elsewhere.
All I can say is good luck if you chose to go with La Capital. You will surely need a lot of it. Words will never be good enough to describe how bad your experience will be when you make a claim.
Worse insurance company ever. Never answer your questions on the phone and refuse to do anything other than tell you to read the letter they are sending in the mail.
Absolutely useless and unhelpful.
To avoid!!
I had wind/hail damage on my SUV last week, so I was hoping to get some nasty looking dents and scratches fixed. Filling a claim is easy, but despite calling several times every day to get my claims processed, I have yet to reach anyone! It always goes straight to voice mail. I also emailed, asked to speak to the claims' person's supervisor, you name it, and nothing. I found out that they only have a couple staff to handle claims like mine, so them picking up or returning your call is like winning the lottery. Needless to say, I'm shopping for a new insurer.
Worst insurance company ever! Worst experience ever with an automobile insurance company after a claim, they don’t like to pay out, only good to take your money. Even their complaint department is useless! Stay away from this company.
Did you know that on average Ontario drivers with good driving records pay $1,805/year in auto insurance? Is your insurance rate higher? Get a free car insurance quote and start saving today.
I had 2 cars insured with La Capital, but recently sold one of them to lease a new one. When I was looking for insurance for the new car, I found a MUCH better rate (~2/3 of the price), with another company, to insure both of my cars. When I cancelled my insurance with La Capitale, however, I was charged a fee of $15 for one car, which was near the end of its contract, and $115 for the other, which was ~6 months from the end of its contract (that's almost 1/4 of the annual premium). The one that I was charged more for had been insured with La Capitale for 8 years, but apparently every time the insurance was renewed, it was for a new 2-year policy (fine print?). The idea of being charged a cancellation fee after insuring my 2 cars for 8 and 14 years respectively strikes me as a ridiculous cash grab. La Capital now has $130 more of my money than I would have liked... but I will NEVER insure anything else with them. That $130 has cost them what could have amounted to thousands/tens of thousands of dollars in car/home insurance premiums in the future. That's not just bad customer service... it's bad business.
Well, your sales representative said I would not get insured anywhere due to my other insurance company bowing out since they could not insure me in QC. I am happy I did not listen to him, another insurer has my business now and they were fantastic compared to the terrible company that I dealt with.
