Ok, Bad customer experience

by KtownGuy on Jul 25, 2019

I was offered the card and did get the world elite, with free towing included! If you fill up at their gas bar (I stopped after a bad experience with staff and pump didn’t turn off), or Husky you collect a lot of points. Use at grocery stores and get a decent amount of points. I run a lot through it and it’s easy to make an instant payment at the stores, so good in many ways. Points add up quickly and I find some decent deals often in store. Customer service experience is, well not the worst and not great. Using their app or website is like a slot machine, it works some of the time. Frequently can’t log in. Frequently have to re-login to the points part and always on the credit card part. Often the app shows more cards then you have and won’t show you details, or wrong details. Frequent app issues or non-specific “technical issues” and won’t log in. Have to go to the website which also often won’t let you log in. Even logs in and then log you out without any info or expiation. The usual “technical issues”. These guys can’t make the digital access work reliably. This is over a year now. I often use the app/web access daily and many frustrations and time wasted. They don’t listen to reviews as the app has low ratings and people point out the issues for some time. Simply too lazy or cheap to hire a real developer to fix this.

Very Poor Customer Service

by Unhappy on May 26, 2019

Customer for years. Online bills not being sent. Called numerous times to complain. Each time you call they say something different. Cancelling card. When calling about paying off that person advised 3rd party sends out online bills and they are having an issue but online support knows nothing.

Really bad card. I cancelled

by Coco123 on Mar 30, 2019

I got a card from them and called to report my card loss to find out that they had the wrong unit number for my address. I corrected it at which point they said they could not issue a new card as there have been too many changes to my account and it’s such a new account. I then told them the address mistake was on their end and not mine as it was the same address my card was sent to, so I’m not sure how my addresses changed. They refused to issue me a replacement until I go into the store, wait in line and use the phone in a store to confirm. I would not have an issue if it were a security issue but THEY made the mistake. Not me. There have not been any changes on my account prior to this minor address correction. Also, at the beginning of receiving my card and using it at a store, my transaction was declined. When I called to inquire why, they said they block all cards after the second transaction until a payment was made. That’s fine, but why is this not stated anywhere? Poor customer service and a really bad card. I have cancelled it and hope everyone takes this as a warning not to get this card.

THIS IS THE WORST CARD!

by Duped on Mar 9, 2019

They assess card every few months and decrease its credit limit if it is not used. This influences your credit to debt ratio /credit rating. I went from 20 grand to 5 grand limit in a year. Next time they send me a use it or lose it letter, I will let the card expire so they cancel it. I no longer buy gas or shop at CT either, where I spent many thousands annually, just not on their card. This credit card stinks. Use any other than this one.

Lost me three

The account in good standing cancelled without me knowing about it (card expiry date was still good as well) I was in line at a Grocery store, running a little late but had to feed the kids then hit the gas station before taking them to the places they needed to be. When I called to ask for help I was declined any help. “ sorry sir we have rebranded, you SHOULD have received a new card in the mail and you SHOULD have known your card would be cancelled”. Fortunately, I could call a friend to actually help me out so I could get home. What would have happened if I hadn’t been closer to home? This is what 4th time they’ve rebranded. I’ve been a loyal customer for 20+ years, always paid my bills on time.

Canadian Tire Master Card Scam

by MF on Mar 1, 2019
1 out of 5 stars

I got Canadian tire master card a few years ago and last year they asked me to change to an online statement rather than paperwork with a promise that I will be notified by email as soon as my statement is ready. The notification was happening on and off and each time when I did not receive the notification and missed the due date payment, they charge me interest and immediately I was getting an email saying my payment was late and of course this time I would get their notification. After several complaints to them and not seeing any changes, I concluded, they are doing it on purpose in order to slap their good customers who pay their bill on time with interest. Their rude and untrained customer service people and supervisor were no help at all. I finally fed up with their unethical behaviour and closed my account.

RIPPED OFF

by carlos I on Dec 19, 2018
1.5 out of 5 stars

I had just added up all my statement transactions and totalled 1121.00, some months I had overpaid. I added up all my payments, which was 1133.00. There should be a credit owing to me, right??? NOPE, the woman was extremely rude, she had the same exact numbers as I, and she said they can do nothing. Her colleague said that he got the same numbers but NOPE. No adjustment...rip-off.

They Lost Me Too

by Steve on Nov 9, 2018

I got my first CT card in the 1980s. I didn't use it much because of their high interest rate. It never dropped in the 1990s, when they switched to MC. I used it, but have not been a fan of the interest rates credit card companies charge. They have an automated email answering system, so it's pointless to use. That's one way CTC avoids having to deal directly with customers. Get on the phone with them if you have problems. I switched to VISA about 20 yrs ago because their interest rate is half of what CTMC charges. CTC used to be a good company, but they import more junk than before, and their prices have risen to the point where it is better to shop at Princess Auto or Walmart for many items. Add their exorbitant interest rate, and it's a no-brainer: Dump CTC!

lost me after 22years

by fed-up on Oct 18, 2018
1 out of 5 stars

I have been a C/T MC user for over 22 years and never had a complaint. Then out of nowhere, they closed my acc. and stopped my automatic payments to my insurance for my car and house, costing me 75$ for each acc. When I contacted them they said that they had sent me new cards as they are re-branding and I had not activated them, so they closed my acc. I pay my bill every month and my card was good to 2020. Never received cards to this day. Can't trust them now! What would I have done if I had gotten in an accident or my house had burnt down and my insurance wouldn't pay because they [ C/T MC ] stopped my payments? So Long and Good Riddance !!!
