I have had a PC Mastercard for 15+ years. When it works, it's great. If anything goes wrong, getting any kind of support from PC Financial will be a nightmare.
A while back, the tap feature on my card stopped working. I ordered a new one. I tried to activate it on the website, but the system wouldn't let me enter the activation code. I called the helpline, which put me on hold and scolded me repeatedly for not solving the problem using their useless website. I waited for maybe an hour and a half.
During this time, I actually walked to a store location and visited the PC Financial kiosk. The guy there told me that PC Financial deliberately made people wait for hours for telephone support, and would not help me anyway.
I hung up and called the next day, and after another hour and a half on hold, I finally reached someone. She told me that she would not do anything to help me, and in a rude and disapproving tone, told me to do it on the website. I told her that the online activation wasn't working. So she told me to call a different telephone support line. I called that one, which sent me into a series of useless online menus, but wouldn't put me through to anybody.
No one answered the phone for over 2 hours?
Even an online account doesn’t allow me to enter. Every time states wrong information or - an account not found.

What else will you get:
Impossible to get phone support. The activating card appears to require you to "set" i.e. change password then gives you a warning about problems you may experience with the password. The feedback tab doesn't appear to work with Edge.
FRUSTRATING customer service. If you enjoy spending hours on hold and a website that doesn't work, by all means, get this card.
I haven't used the card because the first time they sent it, it didn't arrive. I sat on hold for an hour to be told "sit tight - it's probably going to arrive in the next day or two!".
Three weeks later, still hadn't arrived. I sat on hold for another hour to be told "we'll send you another card!"
The card finally arrived.
I try to activate it online, fill out everything, get the message "The system is unavailable. Try again in 10-15 minutes".
Tried the chat feature. It's a bot that cannot answer any but the most basic questions.
I signed up for this card after being approached by one of their representatives at No Frills.
When I got the card, it was next to impossible to activate it online, so I called customer service. In all, I was on hold for almost 3 hours spread over as many days before I managed to get someone.
I found their website user-unfriendly. You can't even change your user name without getting someone on the phone, which is very difficult.
After reading these comments, I decided to close the account. Activating a credit card and getting a CSR on the phone should be seamless, but definitely wasn't.
Avoid this card, it's too much trouble.

I fully concur with the latest comments from others about wait times. It is a massive exercise in frustration. I would say this defines futility.
Try to log in online, and you cannot. The reason is simple. You do not get the verification code they send; so, you cannot log in.
If calling from your mobile, you better have a fully charged battery. Otherwise, your phone will die while you are still on hold. Come to think of it, have some food and water ready too; otherwise, you might starve to death before your call gets through.
Used to be much better. Now I would not recommend this to anyone and am simply not using it despite my decades-long history with them.
Smarten up, PC Financial
I opened a PC money account a few months ago. I tried logging into my online banking and it wouldn't let me so I gave the customer service a call. They then told me that they had closed my PC money account without even telling me and I could no longer access my money. I made weekly deposits into the account and purchases every week. They could not give me a reason why they closed it but said a check would be issued to me in the mail with the remaining funds left in my account. I would not recommend PC financial to anyone I've never heard of this happening before.
The tech team is out to lunch. I keep getting a statement that is pdf and cannot be modified. Just trying to type in the amount I paid, date, transaction number, etc and then save it to my hard drive. It won't allow me to do this. What is the point of paperless if I have to print it out, manually write in the totals with pen, scanning it into my comp and then shred the hard copy! Sheesh! Brought this up several times and have heard many excuses. A few times they admitted their error and rectified it only to have it go back again a few months later! Reached out to head office and thought the problem would be fixed. They even gave me a phone call to tell me it was fixed. And a few months later, well, you know.
There are several other annoyances as well.
The only positive thing I can say about their tech team is that I wish I could work there! It must be some laid back party atmosphere with no repercussions or disciplinary threats to worry about.

The system wouldn't allow me to activate the card forever online, blocking me out so many times due to the "UNSUCCESSFUL ATTEMPT" from their error.
And the waiting time to fix this is ridiculous. I waited to talk to a general staff for 2 hours and then 2 more hours to a specialized agent.
Don't have this card!!!
