I checked the price on the airline website - the fare quoted online was $764 and then I booked a trip through Avion Points as I had points accumulated. It was a trip to attend a family funeral.
They charged me 65000 points and also charged $ 769 on my C/C. I was not told the amount to be charged on the C/C otherwise I would have booked through the airline's online platform!
When I queried this I was told ..65000 point only covers the base fare - which they say was $276.00. Why charge 65000 points when the base fare is only $276?
When I check online what the fees are today, they list them as $315.76.
DON'T Book with RBC Travel Rewards unless you want to be ripped off like I was.
