I had an excellent credit rating. Until I got the MBNA MasterCard. I ordered One item on Amazon. Paid the card off the same day. Magically there were $2.86 left to pay for interest or who knows. MBNA didn't send me a bill or statement. Just called 3 months later to let me know. They also reported late payment and brought my credit rating down by 155 points. I had an excellent credit rating for over ten years. Now it's fair. I'm livid!
The person who picked up my call did admit she was incompetent to solve issues to do with online banking but this took her 45 minutes! She seems to have no idea how to reinstate my brand new credit card that was rejected at several vendors. In the end, she said that I would get to an automatic system to change my password and of course, that system crashed after that long wait. I asked to speak to a manager who, she said, would call later yesterday or early today, and of course I haven't heard from such a manager. During the call, she put me on hold about four times for 10 to 20 minutes at a time. In the end, absolutely nothing was resolved. And my day was thoroughly ruined. Needless to say, when I have spent $1,000 to access my 31,000 Alaska Airlines air miles, I will stop using this card. Especially after reading the incredible number of negative reviews right here right now! Truly shocking!

The worst customer service I have received over the phone. My credit company switched to MBNA so now that’s my credit card company I guess. I just called their customer service line to ask about an issue my credit card was giving me after they have replaced it again and again, and the representative sounded so angry and had an attitude with me. I would definitely look into other credit card companies and will be switching right away as I don’t want to deal with rude people when I’m the one giving this company business. I don’t recommend MBNA at all.
The World Elite Card - STAY AWAY!!! HIGH FEE AND SUB-OPTIMAL BENEFITS. Only a credit card company I have ever experienced this with where an annual fee is non-negotiable. The $120 annual fee appeared on my card, I called and said we want to cancel and they said, "sorry, it is non-negotiable, we cannot do anything about it". This is only a few weeks after I saw it on the bill! Note there are other cards out there with much better insurance benefits and cash rewards with NO fee. DO NOT USE MBNA. Very bad experience and they have lowered their rewards quite significantly. They will very likely do it again. Definitely not worth the $120 annual fee.
I like the card and the rewards provided. I wish they had an app and a more user friendly online website.

Overall it's a good card. No annual fee and 2% cash back is quite good. Only downside is that the travel insurance provided is in general not as solid as other cards on the market.
I think the annual fee is a little high but I still utilize this card because my cash back return is higher than the annual fee.
The annual fee is $120 for a card you can find for free at other banks. Additional Cards now cost $50 (Note this is a new charge)
You no longer receive 2 points for every dollar spent. The new rules are 5 points for specific categories: Restaurant, Grocery, Digital Media, Membership and HouseHold utilities. There is new insurance that you receive on this credit card for the lack of points you will receive.
The value is not there for this card. You can get free credit cards elsewhere with superior benefits.
