I used this credit card for the past three years. I made all my payments on time and just once I missed the payment as I forgot. They didn't even inform me and reduced my credit limit. I immediately paid the balance payment and closed the account. But they still went ahead and informed the credit bureau and impacted my credit score. Please don't get this credit card. They are useless.
I can't believe how ruthless this company can be. It's the Christmas holidays and they blocked my card. I have the best credit rating and always pay on time. I made the mistake of selecting their paperless bill option which messed up my billing system. I didn't receive any bill notifications and missed 2 bill payments. I finally looked into it and asked where are my bills. They said: you have to set up notifications. WHAT? If I go paperless I should automatically be notified if my bill is ready just like any other company would do. So basically after 3 hours of discussions with different representatives, they reversed part of the interest payments and told me to pay the bill which I did. I didn't even get a notice that the bill is late and they sent it to collections! (2 years and I always paid in full and on time and they send me to collections). The next day my card is blocked? Wow after talking to you guys and rectifying the issue that was Scotia's fault they block my card in the holidays. I can't even book a vacation for my family. Thanks, Scotiabank Visa for caring about your customers.

I signed up. Then the changed the rewards from 4% to 2%. When I cancelled the card they reneged on the $300+ cashback. Never again and Scotia Bank products.
As a long term, Scotiabank customer I didn’t except, that this company will use deceptive marketing to trick customers to sign up for their products. I received a pre-approved offer for this card with a prominent 10% cash back for the first $2000 spent. After 4 or 5 phone calls that promised the reward will be credited they finally, admitted that the offer was not available for the previous customer. In other word, the 10% cash back is a scam hoping people will miss the fine print. Stay away from this bank
One of the perks of the Scotia Visa Infinite Credit Crd is Free access to airport lounges all over the world, right. Turns out that secondary cardholders can NOT apply for this service. Only the primary cardholder can. This should be mentioned in the promotion of this card.

I had a very bad experience when I tried cancelling this Momentum Visa Infinite card with Scotiabank, when I was told that I need to keep the card active until November 30, 2017, before I can get the cashback back. I was offered a No Fee Momentum Visa card; however, my existing cashback dividends was automatically reduced by 75% when the card got downgraded. I did mention that I don’t want to keep the credit card but it appears that I have no choice but to downgrade. I wanted to dispute the way the Bank’s system has re-calculated then waited more than a year and no one followed up to refund me the greatly decreased cashback. Not until I received in the mail a letter notifying me of the $10 charge being posted due to an inactive account. This is like a year and a half after I was forced to downgrade the visa card, when no one followed up back then to refund me the cashback after that year’s November 30, 2017. Upon calling customer service line at the Bank recently, I was told that they could only reverse the $10 charge, but nothing they could do to reinstate the original cashback dividends which were earned during the duration of the Momentum Visa Infinite Card. That representative even hung up on me before she was able to come to a resolution. Upon receipt of the current visa card statement showing the credit balance last week, being January 2019, I tried logging on to check and see what I could do but I was locked out of the account. Being unable to go anywhere, I called customer service again trying to see what’s going on with my account. I spoke with a man at customer service for almost an hour. He responded with lots of patience, but his hands are tied and his manager could only refund me the greatly reduced amount of cashback and close the account. I tried asking for a refund cheque but have no choice but to accept the small refund of 25% of the original amount. It is sad when what I have expected did not turn out to be what it should be. If you are looking for a cashback credit card, stay away from this one, unless you keep paying annual fee forever, and look somewhere else for one which will not scam you.
It was very easy to get the card, the card offers great features and cashback. However, I got an equivalent card from another bank with no annual fee. I called in to cancel this card and told again and again how at this time "it just doesn't make sense to cancel it". When I called in after my annual fee was deducted, the representative confirmed that I would get a refund for the annual fee and I should wait till my cashback is released in November. When I called back, I was informed there was no prorated refund and as it is over 90 days, I will not get any refund. Now that I've paid for the whole year, I might as well keep it, insisted the representative. I understand they will make an effort to ensure people don't cancel their cards, but they are not being genuine and will use shady methods to insist you on keeping the card. I am gladly done with this bank!
The cash back reward is great value for the money. Nice to see the accumulated value on each statement. cash back is much more preferable to other types of rewards

You think it covers you but not. I paid with my Scotia Momentum Visa Infinite card a trip abroad in April 2020 with a bunch of friends. The airline company cancelled the trip due to COVID and offer in exchange for a voucher to use with their airline valid 18 months. I asked for a cash refund but they refused. Therefore I went to Scotia Assist I order to use the Travel insurance "trip cancellation". I had high hopes because one of my friends in the same situation managed to get a refund with his own travel insurance with his Visa card from another bank. (Not Scotia bank). he made the claim in April and got a refund at the end of May 2020. Let me tell you it has been awfully slow with Scotia Assist insurance! I called good dozens of time, they lost my file then found it back, the, after 3 months they told me to call another Department named World Travel Protection. Since I got a reply: they refused to refund me because they say " As stated in your Certificate of Insurance; Trip Cancellation will reimburse you for any Eligible Expenses which are not refundable or reimbursable in any manner if, prior to Your scheduled departure, an Insured Person is required to cancel a Trip due to one of the covered Causes for Cancellation." Therefore if the airline offers a voucher, even if you have the insurance you will not be able to get a refund! My other friend in the same situation did get a refund but it was with another bank. I will say that actually there are so many exceptions in the insurance charts that most of the time you will never get a refund. Very disappointed! So now I will have an airline voucher that I will not use and no refund. The insurance was useless.
