As a member of the military I often move every 2 to 3 years. Scotia Bank has been very receptive to the unique requirements of a transient population and have made the mortgage process a painless experience.
Scotia Bank has incompetent hires/staff that don't understand their products and services offered to clients. While I had a mortgage with them, I applied for a Homeline Credit some years ago and the Financial Planner had opened an online application on their system with erroneous data that indicated that my property was not a primary residence but in fact it was my primary residence. He was not able to correct the application and I was held back from receiving a homeline of credit. This resulted in me transferring my mortgage and various other accounts to RBC plus paying a penalty for transferring my mortgage before renewal date. I strongly discourage the use of this bank as the staff are incapable, not qualified, and not trained well.
