You provide all documents to Allianz and wait...and wait...and wait.
Months later they request the same information. For example, they request proof that there is no refund... The documents sent clearly say no refund. So we rescan the same documents and circle/highlight where it says no refunds.
After multiple requests, resubmissions, and months of waiting, they move on to other requests like proof of prepaid airline tickets for our return flight. To take advantage of an employee discount we were flying standby however, our numerous canceled documents for our 5-week vacation (cut short to just 1 week because my wife fell, broke her arm, and needed surgery) cruise, etc were clearly dated after our flight home.
And trying to phone Allianz is very frustrating... a recording either informs you they are too busy and call back OR you wait hours on hold. If I could rate them with a negative star, I would. I suggest you get your travel insurance elsewhere
It has been three days that I have been trying to contact them to get clarity with regard to the insurance coverage that we have. Spend hours waiting on hold to speak to no one. Very disappointed! Find someone else who will value your business.
I bought travel insurance for my daughter but we never received a confirmation email. I have called 3 different toll-free numbers, waiting on hold for hours, and with one of them was able to leave a callback number - however, the callback was supposed to be 3 hours ago so I don't think I am going to hear from anyone. This is absolutely ridiculous.
I haven't been able to get a chance to even BUY insurance from this company. I've been on hold for hours and when they answer they say that I'm from BC and they have to find an agent. No one over gets back to me. Imagine if I had to make a CLAIM?
I want nothing to do with this company.
More than a 5-hour wait on call just waiting to ask why I was incorrectly charged for insurance that I have.
Have been put on hold 4 times, and dropped 4 times, even when transferred internally. And the review of payouts is VERY poor. Give it a try.
I would expect better customer service such as your call answering service is extremely frustrating, never connect to a real person, we tried to reach a Travel agent for 3 days, our call was never answered. No call-back feature. Your online Travel quote is fine if your medical history and age are straightforward, but sometimes you need to talk to a real person for specific questions to the questionnaire, but this you do not offer. How can a large prominent bank like RBC not have better customer service?
Can't be trusted.
Trying to talk to an agent - it is impossible! However, when I finally spoke with someone he said I had the wrong department and he hung up on me and said he could not transfer my call.
As a former staff member, I’m not happy with the service
I have had nothing but good experiences with RBC so I thought it was a safe bet to buy their travel insurance for a longer than normal trip - exceeding 30 days. While away, I had to extend my trip by a week - do you think it was possible to actually speak to somebody to do this? Not a chance! Nothing leaves a customer with an infuriating desire to set the world on fire than to be kept on hold with a sickly sweet automatic voice reminding you how important your call is - only to be dropped after 30 minutes, while overseas. I can't be bothered to find out whether RBC is bigger than Allianz, or vice-versa - but either one of them could afford to do a better job than this... Never again.
Rest assured that you won’t be able to contact them, no one answers their phones. It doesn’t matter what time of day you call, they are “always experiencing high call volumes”. When you submit a claim, be prepared for them to ask you for the same documents over and over again. It’s been a month and I’m still waiting. It’s obvious they don’t want to pay even though they should as per their policy. They are clearly trying to frustrate me so I don’t keep asking for reimbursement. Shocking defeat the whole purpose of having insurance when you get zero benefits from them!
