Rest assured that you won’t be able to contact them, no one answers their phones. It doesn’t matter what time of day you call, they are “always experiencing high call volumes”. When you submit a claim, be prepared for them to ask you for the same documents over and over again. It’s been a month and I’m still waiting. It’s obvious they don’t want to pay even though they should as per their policy. They are clearly trying to frustrate me so I don’t keep asking for reimbursement. Shocking defeat the whole purpose of having insurance when you get zero benefits from them!
It has been three days that I have been trying to contact them to get clarity with regard to the insurance coverage that we have. Spend hours waiting on hold to speak to no one. Very disappointed! Find someone else who will value your business.
More than a 5-hour wait on call just waiting to ask why I was incorrectly charged for insurance that I have.
Have been put on hold 4 times, and dropped 4 times, even when transferred internally. And the review of payouts is VERY poor. Give it a try.
As an RBC customer for over 20 years, I tried earlier this year to get a quote only for the RBC to hang up on me 3 times without hearing a human.
For the benefit of the doubt, I tried again today. After listening about how important I am to them for 30 minutes, I thought what if I was in real trouble?
RBC really need to buck up or get out of this business. It is embarrassing.
Online quotes and policies look very good. But needed modification to their limited quotation tool and was referred to the RBC Travel Insurance centre. Over the past two weeks, I have attempted to reach the RBC Travel Insurance centre. On hold for about 10 hours total, never did reach them. Contacted my branch for an in-person visit to get a quote and they told me that they could not reach them either.
If you can't even reach them for a quote, probably best not to sign up with them for coverage!
I have used RBC TRAVEL INSURANCE many times with no problems whatsoever. Now that ALLIANZ has taken over you wait hours to get in touch with them. On the first day spent 3 hours trying to get through to them. The next day, I got up at 5 am BC time to get in touch with them on eastern time only to be told that there was no BC licensed agent that could handle my update on travel. Someone would call me back within 48 hours. 3rd day, Heading into 26 hours and still nothing. Am I to stop everything in my life waiting for service to extend my policy. My travel is in May. Guess I will have to write off my deposit and go to a live person and light insurer. SHAME ON RBC...
Trying desperately to get some help abroad but the endless long hold does not help much. Why would you put someone on hold for hours when they are calling for help when dealing with an EMERGENCY. Expect so much more from RBC - very disappointed. Oh and forgot to mention - PATH app does not exist on the play store - best of luck finding it...
The worst travel insurance ever! RBC are using Allianz and you CANNOT contact them. They state you need to contact them as soon as you need medical assistance abroad. On hold for 2 HOURS while in the emergency department abroad and they NEVER answered. They have never responded to subsequent emails and attempts to make a claim online are so convoluted that you can never complete it. DO NOT recommend!

It's been 7 months since my medical incident, and 5 months since I submitted all receipts (the hospital took 2 months to send invoices - as Allianz (RBC's provider) would not pay hospital directly.).
After no progress for months, I had an email today asking for a receipt that was previously submitted that was somehow misplace.
Trying to get an update via phone (with long holding times) was useless. Claim was always in progress. . .
Allianz is hugely understaffed.
I'll never buy RBC insurance again, as long as Allianz is the provider.
