Cancelled without fair notice

I was with Sonnet for almost a year, while I was with them I had no new tickets/claims/accidents and they just decide to cancel me with no reason at all! I can’t believe I wasted my time with them. Sonnet is also known to give you a great low price your first year with them, and once it’s time to renew they’ll up your price without reason. Please do not waste your time with them.
I chose Sonnet due to the simplicity of their online set-up, monthly payments, competitive rates and email communication. All went well in the beginning. Eight months in I had to file a glass claim to replace the front windshield on my Corvette, my first glass claim in 30 years. They stalled, tried to substitute after-market glass, which didn't exist, wanted to use glass from a lower-trim model and, finally, told me that they would not pay the full price for the correct part plus installation. Long story short and 12 days later my glass installer finally talked to the right level of management and the job was completed. My claims record for both home and auto insurance is spotless, save for the recent glass claim. Has been for 30 years. Come time for renewal and my auto policy increases by 12% and my home owner's by 186% - yes that's right, no claims and no changes from the previous year. I requested an explanation, in writing, they told me that they couldn't do that, not their policy, please call customer service or I could cancel my policies online. I'll let you guess what I did.
Did you know that on average Ontario drivers with good driving records pay $1,805/year in auto insurance? Is your insurance rate higher? Get a free car insurance quote and start saving today.
Beware, please!!! Got a quote for home and auto insurance. Saved it. Was happy as it stated well for 45 days. Went and cancelled my insurance with my older company. Was about to buy. Website crashed. Called and emailed, got an irrelevant response from the tech support 24 hours later. Went again and did quote again just to see it mysteriously increasing. Called them again and asked to provide me with the first quote that was supposed to be good for 45 days. Nope! Once you requote, you are done. I explained that I wanted the first quote and the reason why I requoted was that your website is falling apart. What kind of product do you offer to people when you do not stand behind your words? What is the point in 45 days locking price, when you cannot provide it even after 5 days? Is this the company that I would want to trust my cars and home? No! You lost me as a customer. A poor experience, poor product and unhelpful. Extremely dissatisfied and disappointed with a lack of intention to help.
I signed with Sonnet for ease of use and low rates. In the first year, I had a claim for a stone in the windshield (repair). Got quickly settled, valued at $123.00. Upon renewal, my home insurance went up by 29%, while the car insurance went up by 300%. Not an error! 300% (close to $1,000 increase)! And the only explanation I got was that it was because of that particular claim. One good thing about Sonnet: you can get out without penalty at any time. Lesson learned: don't have any claim with Sonnet!

I have been happy with Sonnet for 3 years and all of a sudden I received a letter stating my policy will not be renewed because I did not respond to them in a timely matter. They reasoned that they sent me an email and I did not respond to them within 30 days. Thing is the last email I got from them was 2 months before they claimed to have sent this one. So, after 3 years with no claims and no missed or late payments they don't want me as a customer. I was told that I could get a new quote and reapply as a customer, but that would make my rate increase by $170/m which more than doubles my premium. I will now be taking all of my policies elsewhere.
