Cancelled

Last year I signed up for Sonnet Auto Insurance and with probably millions of others, I had a major cut back on my hours causing financial hardship I did miss two payments and I paid the first one per agreement. The second one was due to when I signed up for Direct deposit I was advised that my banking account was already on file from a previous claim from 2014. The only issue was it was an older bank account. I tried MULTIPLE times to contact Sonnet, via email and phone; not one person returned my call until it was too late and the payment bounced I tried changing the payment info and was advised to contact customer service. It was a week and no one could get back to me.
No, not that they couldn't they wouldn't. Bottom line I had the money for the second missed payment and was not able to get in touch with anyone to give them um customer service yet no service. If you're here weighing the pros and cons I believe the numbers speak for itself
I had a policy for one year - no claims - a five-star driving record. Sonnet sends me a notification to indicate I was approved for policy renewal - what they failed to disclose was that my rates were doubling. That’s correct - DOUBLING. A 100% increase. I asked for an explanation and was told that the Alberta government approved a 20% increase... OK, so what about the other 80%? No explanation was available. I asked to speak with a senior person - “sure we can have someone call you...” NO call and a week pass. All this during COVID when many insurance companies are lowering premiums for people. GOODBYE SONNET!

They Cancelled our insurance for something that wasn`t relevant to our policy! We called & spoke with an agent & they looked at our policy & said that they didn`t see anything wrong. They asked us to sent a drivers abstract report for each driver & they would review our policy. I spent money for the reports & sent them as I was told. I emailed 3 different times & they never responded to any of my emails. They are not a very professional insurance company to deal with!
