My claims have mostly been with glass, and the company processes my claims without challenge. However, it is odd that they even ask the date of the original damage. You may have a stone chip you don't even notice until cold weather hits and the chip becomes a long crack.
Accidents years ago - no problems, concerned about no-fault insurance though!
