They increase your premium by 80% with no claim and no reason was given. I have been loyal customer of personal from 7 years and regret my business with them.
It has been one month since I reported and took my car to the Fix It Auto Body as recommended by the Personal Insurance company. Because my car is a 2011 the Personal will only authorize used parts to fix the damage. Apparently, the part is back-ordered and I am on an indefinite wait until the part arrives. This company will take your money, but not support the customer properly when it comes time for a hit-and-run repair to be undertaken.
Did you know that on average Ontario drivers with good driving records pay $1,805/year in auto insurance? Is your insurance rate higher? Get a free car insurance quote and start saving today.
Terrible company. They do not save info. I had to repeat and get a quote each time. The price was different each time and they were blaming each other. Even for the documents they were not sure what they need. Each agent asked for different things. Will not recommend it to anyone
I recently contacted The Personal Insurance to inquire about a policy quote for a motorcycle. Initially, I was hopeful about their services and eagerly provided the necessary information to proceed with the policy. However, my experience took a sharp turn for the worse when I called back to finalize the details.
To my dismay, I was informed that my premium had unexpectedly increased by a staggering 40% without any valid reason or explanation. This sudden and significant hike in the policy cost left me utterly disappointed and frustrated. As a customer seeking a fair and reasonable insurance solution, I anticipated transparent and honest dealings.
Based on my recent experience, I regretfully cannot recommend The Personal Insurance Company to others seeking insurance services. The lack of transparency, coupled with an unjustified and drastic increase in premiums, has greatly disappointed me. I will be exploring other options with companies that value their customers and offer fair and consistent pricing.
My mother's car was hit by another vehicle, damaging the plastic bumper cover. The decision was to write off the vehicle and pay out a ridiculously low amount. The company would then take possession of the vehicle. We were told that if we wanted to keep the vehicle, we would have to cancel the claim and buy the vehicle back from their sales department. My mother, a 98-year-old veteran, needs this car for transportation to medical appointments.
Customer service is the worst, seems u have to repeat yourself 20x and they still don’t get the facts, they took money from my account for a second vehicle I no longer had and then tried to charge me $440 a month for one vehicle, when 2 vehicles were $480 a month. Cancelled right away n got insurance with another insurer for the same vehicle and coverage for $175 a month. Had a credit n once I cancelled they managed to find a way to still take money out of my account and it was not a cancellation fee. Getting a lawyer n going after them! Scammers all the way!
Applied for auto insurance and provided all documents as desired even banking info for pre-authorize payment but the agent in contact through emails vanished. No response from them. My one week of pursuance miserably failed. Waste of time. The claim would be more difficult with this company. Revert to my previous insurer.
The sales pitch for veterans, and CAF members is non-existent. A typical company that is trying to pretend they value our service by offering fake rate reductions based on our service to the Country.
Total BS, just another sad industry exploiting service members.
Other companies offered $300/yr less!
If you have a good driving record in AB, you should pay around $110/month (women - $105/month and men - $113/month). Do you overpay? Get an Alberta car insurance quote to start saving.
My husband had a serious car accident about 6 to 8 weeks ago and we are still waiting for a payout. The Personal took his call right away after the accident, but after that, it took a week for the next follow-up call, then several more weeks, never talking to the same agent twice. Now, they are hung up on getting some sort of paperwork that is unavailable... it feels like this is never going to end. Agents have been snarky and rude. Not forthcoming with information or help. We will be switching insurance companies as soon as this ridiculousness is settled.
Do yourself a favour and find a different insurance company than the Personal.
Don’t use the personal for your insurance. They won’t notify you when your premium changes, and withdraw payments later than they said they will. This costs extra NSF charges from both the bank and the company, and suddenly you’re down extra hundreds of dollars. Any other insurance company would be better.
