BAD SERVICES

Waiting for my scheduled tow times that called in. Only to phone in and realized they were even coming, due to a rise in emergency calls... My problem is I waited all day for the tow truck company. I took time off work and only to be told that they set a new tow time between 4 pm and 4 am.. how is that service? I understand you are a tow truck company. But how do you leave a paying cumstomer stranded???? how?? AMA did nothing to help my situation.

WORST COMPANY EVER TO DEAL

Phone customer service -10000000000/10 This is my third time calling on the phone and they treat their customers terrible. Absolutely no sense of customer service. Called 3 times, 3 different answers and the way they talk is awful. A representative talking to me like she is doing me a favor when I’m the one taking my business to you. SOO RUDE. Can’t imagine people like her still stay at the job. Need some serious auditing for customer service. My money with them for a full year so I can’t do anything about it. I’m practically STUCK with them. All other insurance companies are so much better. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE. I haven’t been this frustrated in some time a company.

Loyalty means nothing to AMA

During COVID times, my father was in and out of the hospital and I was in an air cast for almost 6 months. My daughter and I worked together to become a multigenerational household to reduce expenses. Unfortunately, by doing this, the AMA decided that by having my daughter and son-in-law in the same home, I have to put them as full-time drivers on my policy changing my insurance payments from ~233$ per month to~550$ per month. Resetting my policy back to day 1. They then demanded that I pay the first 3 months immediately as a new client/policy, not even taking into account the 15 interrupted years as a client. It’s heartbreaking to be treated so poorly. There was some miscommunication during the move, but it was not necessary to be so aggressive and threatening in their response. I guess this is just an invitation for me to leave and look for a different insurance company that cares about loyalty, history and compassion during difficult times.

Very bad customer service

Absolutely ridiculous! I am trying to call them from last month to get a better deal because I am paying $280 for my Toyota Corolla from the last 2 years every month. Every time I call them they put my call on hold. Finally, after a long wait, I disconnect the call. Totally waste of time. I will move on with some another company.

AMA roadside assistance line told us we would have a tow truck on the root of my vehicle in the next 8 hours From 6:30 pm-2:30 am. After me and my family stayed up till 3:30 waiting for a call from AMA we went to sleep. After calling them in the morning we were informed nobody was ever coming and we were told false information from the AMA representative we were speaking to.

Ripe you off

One of the worst insurer I ever had!!! I hit a moose in northern Ontario and AMA does nothing to help me... He never covers the tow truck... And a motel... Noting... I had to pay 3780$ to towed my van in the next decent city... Plus 250$ of motel... In the end, I deal by my self for a renting car at one hour drive from my place... Took more than a week to mandate an appraisal to evaluate the vehicle... But don't worry AMA will ripe you off every month!

Awful service

Was involved in an accident a week ago. Since then, I have been contacted ONCE, just a quick 1-minute call confirming details of the accident. I have tried calling my agent in Calgary several times, left several messages, but she has not returned a single one of my calls all week. I have spoken to several of her colleagues, who have only told me that she's on break/out of the office. Crazy that someone can be out of the office for over 4 hours per day and still keep their job. But, don't expect anything else from AMA auto insurance. Absolutely terrible service. You should be paying insurance for peace of mind, but this last week has been the most stressful time of my life!

Never again

Last month got sideswiped on the passenger side of my one week old Jeep Wrangler and AMA claims I’m at fault even with a video, and pictures showing the others driver was trying to pass me in the right in the ditch. I was doing the speed limit of 50kmh and I had just turned off highway 18 onto highway 44 in Westlock Alberta, when I tried to pull off the road from the right-hand lane when a truck hit me in the back passenger tire I swerved left and the other driver turned left hitting me a second time the right front tire and the video shows all this but yet AMA says I’m at fault because apparently, the other driver has the right to pass you in the ditch. The video shows the other driver's tires kicking up dirt and also shows, according to the timer on the video, that he closed a 2-3 car length in 1 second... I've been paying thousands of dollars to AMA for insurance for over a decade I have a clean abstract and a 5 year clean commercial drivers abstract the last claim I had was a tree fell across the box of my truck during a bad storm in 2008 and AMA screws me... I've already told them when my insurance needs to be renewed I’m going elsewhere. I’ve got 3 vehicles, 2 quads, 1 Harley Davidson, a camper, boat, and house all insured with AMA and all paid in full until January 2020. Thousand of dollars a year AMA is loosing from me after this never have I been so disgusted with an insurance company in the almost 30years that I've paid insurance... Goodbye AMA, I hope no one else gets screwed like this, and for my adjusters, I hope they get treated with the same ignorance that they showed me!!!

Worst insurance company ever!

I was a customer with AMA for 18 years. I had an accident six years ago not my fault. I had a six-month-old Jeep Grand Cherokee that was a total Loss unfixable. I lost over $8000 with the payout. Was told that was all they would give. Took over 2 months to resolve. Complaining doesn’t help, was told to get a lawyer. Unbelievable, employees not in a good way. Very rude, ignorant and arrogant. About five months ago I received a bill for $5400 a year for insurance. This was the first time that I realized how much we were paying, as my wife always pays the bills. I thought this was extremely high, although, it was for three vehicles. I decided then and there to reach out to her broker it was the best decision I have made in a long time. By doing this it’s saved me over $2000 a year. I can mention several other bad experiences I’ve had with this company. I hope whoever decides to, read this review and please take my word for it. If not, read the other reviews, they are all quite similar. This company is very crooked and dishonest! Hopefully, you make the proper decision.

AMA Charging premium

My vehicle insurance was with AMA for the past 20 years. I’ve never had a claim, no accidents, no traffic tickets. For 20 years I’ve been paying them for insurance and now last night at work someone hit my vehicle and never left a note “Hit and run”. My vehicle was legally parked in a crescent. This is out of my control as anyone would know who has been in this situation. I’ve filed a hit and run with the police and went to AMA to get it fixed. When I got to AMA, I was expecting to pay my 500$ deductible and they would take care of the rest. I was very wrong, paying them for 20 years of insurance with no claims, they tell me my premium will probably go up since it’s a brand new vehicle. How can my premium go up for a parked vehicle that I’m “Not at Fault” for? It’s a hit and run and can happen anytime, anywhere to anyone, unfortunately. I told the agent I do not want my insurance to go up over this. I’m shocked, the agent has the nerves to tell me to just paint over it and it should be fine. Excuse me? This is the most ridiculous thing I’ve ever heard in my life. It’s a brand new Acura, I’ve been paying for 20 years of insurance and they tell me to just paint it myself? Also, the agent said it’s AMA policy to raise premium over things like these and they can’t do anything. Real nice, from an insurance company that is this cheap and all about taking your hard-earned money and when something like this happens, oh, your premium is going up. I’m done with AMA and I’m moving my house insurance, all vehicles and life insurance elsewhere. I will pay out of my own pocket to fix my vehicle but I will leave you a bad review over this. Beware, everyone, this can happen to you as well.
