Western Assurance/RSA Group.

I would give this company zero stars if it were possible. Horrible customer service, emails that provide absolutely nothing of value, no information regarding your claim but only excuses. My car was rear-ended, I was not at fault and the incident report said so. 14 days later and no information regarding the damage assessment of my car. I have repeatedly emailed my damage assessor and received polite useless emails, basically, saying nothing. I have used this company for 18 years, I have never had to make a claim and I am so glad to be dumping this company. After all of the negative reviews online about RSA and Western Assurance, it's true, they are indeed the worse company. I will never recommend this company. I hope they go out of business.

Premium doubled after 5 days

I was given a decent quote, purchased my vehicle and started driving. 5 days into the policy and I received a phone call from my broker that the underwriting department did not approve the rate and asking for 45% more than the quote. Sheer disappointment!

Scam tactic

I wish I can give this place a negative star. The accident has been more than a week and not a single person reached out. I was put on hold for 2 hours then got hanged up for two days consecutively. Is this their tactic for deterring people to make a claim. This bad practice can be reported to the consumer protection agency! I will make sure my broker switch the insurance company or I switch the broker myself.

Did you know that on average Ontario drivers with good driving records pay $1,805/year in auto insurance? Is your insurance rate higher? Get a free car insurance quote and start saving today.

worst company

By far the worst company. Was in an accident and it took them over a month to even start the process. When calling, was told I would have someone call me back and I had to call for two weeks leaving messages to finally be given a manager to speak to, who could care less about even solving the problem. If you want a company which doesn't care and no customer service, go with them!

TERRIBLE COMPANY

They are the worse insurance company I have ever dealt with. I have been driving for 29 years ... have used several insurance companies but this is by far the worst insurance company. Do not use them, please shop around. They never ever advised me that I could use Air Miles and I have lost out on 1 year of points.

I wish I could even write their Customer service but I can’t because I never got through to them. It’s been a week on this. I’ve been a wreck and I still am but I will talk to my insurance. How crazy is that? What exactly am I paying for? I waited on hold for an hour and 30 minutes this is just crazy!!!

The worst experience I have ever had, drop them now! I had a wreck over a week ago and cannot get in touch with anyone!!! All they do is take your money. Do not ever get them.

WORST COMPANY EVER

First off, they absolutely do not care about their customers. I had a minor accident last year in July. I made a claim and was told my adjuster would call back to handle my claim. He only called once in which he stated he would call back to investigate further. Never heard from him again. I called numerous times as well as emailed him many times and never got a response. Every time I called the main office, they stated that only my adjuster could help me and to keep trying to contact him. What good is calling the adjuster when they never reply back or answer their emails or calls!!! RIDICULOUS!! Finally, I got a hold of someone at the main office in Jan, only to find out that my adjuster had closed my claim without me knowing and for reasons I wasn't even aware of! When I asked to speak with management or someone higher to investigate, they kept handing me to 3 different people. All of whom COULD NOT help and didn't even know what they were doing. All gave me different reasons for why he closed it but none were true. They told me 1 week prior to my renewal that I had to either fix my car, which only had a tiny dent, or replace it. Since it would've been impossible with such short notice, they said I could keep the same quote even after I changed my car and had it noted on file. WHAT A LIE. I changed my car for that purpose only to have a supervisor, who was handed my file, call me back and state that I couldn't get the same quote as before and that whoever stated that to me was wrong?! My renewal was about to end Mar 1. I decided to cancel my insurance with them as I was tired of this runaround and lies. She said she would cancel it and I wouldn't have to pay a fee because of all the trouble I had. I received a letter in the mail a week later from their credit bureau stating that if I didn't pay my account, it would be sent into collection. I called her back and told her that I did not want my account to going into collections as she specifically told me I would not be charged. She told me to disregard the notice and not to worry. She said she would investigate my file and take it further to fight my claim and why I was mistreated so bad. Thinking I was getting somewhere, she emailed me last month stating that she couldn't do anything for me anymore and did what she could. She didn't do anything, as she always had an excuse for not following up with head office. She simply pushed me off and gave me a number to call to take it further. When I called the number, they were also confused as it was the same company but wrong number given. They decided to help me & took my information last week and to have someone call me back urgently the next day. No one did. I called again yesterday and again they said the same thing. Both times again I was told my account would not go into collection. Finally, I called today and decided to speak with someone in billing only to find out that they had sent my account to collection yesterday and never noted anything in my file when previously I called twice!! I was so frustrated that just to get them off my hands I decided to pay which I can guarantee is why they were avoiding helping me this whole time. THIS COMPANY TAKES YOUR MONEY AND DOES NOT CARE. PLEASE AVOID!!! After all this nonsense if I had known, I would've never signed with them!

STAY AWAY!

by Karen C on Jan 25, 2018
1 out of 5 stars

Involved in a 4 car pile up in November 2017. Was given a car rental right away, but that is where the positive ends. Had to fill out so much paperwork, and my health provider had so much paperwork, but we got it done and faxed it in, and waited. Early December had not heard anything. Emailed and called. Finally, on Dec 20 found out they had not received my fax of 15 pages. Apparently, the day I faxed was the day their machines were down. Refaxed it immediately. Had not heard anything for 2 weeks, then I emailed again to ask if they received it... yes. Great. Meanwhile, I got my ambulance bill and was told insurance was going to cover it. Faxed that in. Now 2 more weeks, and another reminder, last reminder to pay the ambulance bill. Emailed yet again to inquire the status of my claim. Today, 10 weeks after the accident, got a voicemail message to say they did not receive the first fax of the ambulance bill or anything from my practitioner! Sooo beyond fed up with this company. I have always paid my monthly premium, never had a problem... My renewal is due this month. NOT RENEWING!!! Can not say enough about staying away from this company. They do not care about their customers!!!

Won't fix sunroof

by Snaphappykat on Jul 13, 2017
1 out of 5 stars

I'm a class 2 driver! NEVER filed a claim. My sunroof blew out while on the road! First they said it was covered, then they said it wasn't. I argued with them about it because I have a 3x2 foot hole in the roof of my vehicle. Then they said it was covered again. Booked an appointment to get it fixed. Show up at the glass repair shop and they had emailed (did not bother to call me) the glass shop to say it wasn't covered until they received photos showing the damage. Because if it was a rock, then it's not covered. How the hell are they going to know if it was a rock? I have no sunroof left!!!
