After a week of providing more information almost every day for a new auto policy I was directed to go to Service Ontario and get a non-plated registration to prove to them I was going to register vehicle in Ontario. this would have declared the vehicle "unfit" meaning I would have to have it towed for inspection. I called and emailed PC from Service Ontario repeatedly and got no response, nadda. I called State Farm and had my policy in 30 minutes for about the same price.... Never again with PC, massive runaround and then left hanging in the wind like I had leprosy.
First, they were extremely hard to arrange a policy with, long waits, and poor communication. I went through with it because of cost savings. One month into the policy they contact me stating they are removing all collision and comprehensive coverage due to a "missed payment" although I had paid in full... So I thought. 3 months into the policy, with pink cards and all, I receive an email about an issue with my account. I contacted PC Insurance to find out they CANCELLED my policy over a month ago due to "Non-payment".
There was an active credit card on file and zero warning of the cancellation of my policy till I contacted them. They have since added a "non-payment, policy cancellation" to my records that remain for years.
Do yourself a favor and skip these scam artists.
Did you know that on average Ontario drivers with good driving records pay $1,805/year in auto insurance? Is your insurance rate higher? Get a free car insurance quote and start saving today.
They overcharged me and refused to reimburse me. I was overcharged over $900. When I asked to speak to a manager, I was told that they would speak to their supervisor, and call me back. When I asked for their Head Office number, I was told that they didn't have one. I had to Google it myself. What kind of a business does not provide the opportunity for a customer to field their complaint to a manager? Why did they lie, and say that they did not have a Head Office?
I have called the customer service line a few times to make a change to our policy and have spent collectively 60+ minutes on hold without successfully reaching anyone. (Including 20 minutes right now) Is this typical? To be honest, at this point we are so disappointed with the level of service that we are considering cancelling the policy entirely.
Worst Broker I have dealt with. They first got all my addresses wrong. Once they finally fixed that my rates kept increasing. I had had enough and when I wanted to cancel they were making it absolutely impossible and made me jump through hoops. I will never use PC for anything.
PC has increased my premium in the middle of the year for no reason. I called the broker a few times and, even, emailed them but no answer. And when called the customer service, first of all they said they don't have access to my full account and, secondly, when asked for the reason to my increased premium, they said they can hook me up with another insurance company as they don't have any control on my insurance rate even at the first place they offer me the price for the full year. Please be careful, you might think you got better rates in the beginning but once you stuck with them for the full year, you'll end up paying the high premium and even more than you think of.
In searching for a new auto and home insurance we checked out PC's online quote system and got back some really great numbers - so great that I was ready to pull the trigger. I called them and started the process and the salesman said the best quote for us was from Aviva, but the end price ended up being close to $40 more than what the online quote gave me. So I called Aviva directly and they were able to give me a quote about halfway between the online quote and the quote given to me on the phone. When I called back to my rep and explained that this was the case and I'd like them to come closer to the online quote, he became quite abrupt and rude and said there was no way that was happening. So I kept shopping and eventually called RBC Insurance, who *also* use Aviva and who gave me the *exact* quote that I had gotten through PC's online quote system initially. So we went with RBC. Don't trust PC's low prices on the quote calculator, they are not what you will get when you're on the phone with them.
I was shopping around to get a better quote for my car insurance and I was helped by one of the agents. As usual, we go over with all the questions and to make the story short, she asked whose my insurance is and asked me why I just want to insure only one vehicle though I had multiple. I told her: just one vehicle because I just need to see if this company can give me better pricing. Suddenly, she told me it doesn’t make sense why I just want to insure one and not all. She began to accuse me of doing an insurance fraud and why there are two names on my policy. I explained it to her that the second person is the primary driver of the other car and she began telling me if we are common law and why there are two names on the policy. I was so disgusted with her accusations and told her how frustrated I was for her treating me this way. She even phoned my insurance to make it sure this is not a fraud. This agent should be educated more and learn more about two names on the insurance policy. She’s very ignorant and rude. I will never forget this experience and never recommend this insurance at all.
If you have a good driving record in AB, you should pay around $110/month (women - $105/month and men - $113/month). Do you overpay? Get an Alberta car insurance quote to start saving.
I almost had my insurance cancelled for non-payment because a number was written down incorrectly on their end. Then I called to correct it and they didn’t put the payment through? So I paid the insurance company directly to avoid any more confusion on PC’s end, again.
Customer service sucks!!!! Agent admitted to be working for insurance company, not the client. Ask for information pertaining to my file - refuse to release, really, my own file!!!! I had to get IBC & RIBO involved, now on to the Ombudsman as they still refuse to release information.
All very simple -- they are NOT there to help, just pay, pay & pay and do as we say or we will suspend or remove your policy.
Time to move on!!!!
