In August, I called to get tenant's insurance for a new place in Alberta starting September 1. I asked for my Ontario tenant's insurance policy to be cancelled on September 5. My auto and tenant insurance was bundled. The representative I spoke with wasted 2 hours of my time by constantly repeating to himself that I need to wait to cancel my auto insurance until I’m in Alberta. I already knew this and was simply wanting to deal with the tenant's insurance in that call. On September 14 I got my car inspection done so called to switch my auto insurance to Alberta. That’s when I found out it was also cancelled on September 5 so I have unknowingly been driving uninsured. I have spent 24 hours trying to resolve this. Constantly being put on hold for transfers to other agents. Hung up on multiple times. Was promised a call back which I never received. Out of all the people I have spoken with only one was apologizing. I was told there is no management or customer care for me to speak with. I am currently supposed to be receiving another call back by the end of the day today but I don’t trust that to happen and can not continue driving uninsured so have gone ahead and gotten insurance through a brokerage here in Calgary with no insurance history even though I have been insured with no breaks since 2010.

Please please do not give this company your money. Save yourself and go with someone else.

Cancelled Insurance Without Notice

by Ryan Hamilton on Aug 10, 2022

First, they were extremely hard to arrange a policy with, long waits, and poor communication. I went through with it because of cost savings. One month into the policy they contact me stating they are removing all collision and comprehensive coverage due to a "missed payment" although I had paid in full... So I thought. 3 months into the policy, with pink cards and all, I receive an email about an issue with my account. I contacted PC Insurance to find out they CANCELLED my policy over a month ago due to "Non-payment".
There was an active credit card on file and zero warning of the cancellation of my policy till I contacted them. They have since added a "non-payment, policy cancellation" to my records that remain for years.
Do yourself a favor and skip these scam artists.

Worst Broker I have dealt with. They first got all my addresses wrong. Once they finally fixed that my rates kept increasing. I had had enough and when I wanted to cancel they were making it absolutely impossible and made me jump through hoops. I will never use PC for anything.

Predatory pricing

Just called PC to get insurance because their online quote was by far the cheapest, but we had a policy cancelled in 2015 due to a credit card payment not going through but it was reinstated later the same day when we sorted the problem. PC counted that as a cancellation due to nonpayment and then wanted to have us pay in full (I was happy to do so as that was the original plan) but also wanted to jack the price up by almost $400. We have never had an at-fault accident, never had a speeding ticket, no driving violations, etc, completely clean driving record and only one issue ever with payment in our history so I found the extra almost $400 they wanted to charge us to be ridiculous. So I immediately told them no and had my husband call around, we ended up going through TD, exact same history, they also had us pay in full (again, we were happy to do so as it was our original plan anyway and we understand that we're more of a risk on paper due to the payment mix up in 2015), but they didn't jack the price up and we ended up with a better policy (24/7 roadside assistance, rental vehicle covered, accident forgiveness, new vehicle replacement, etc) for a little over $300 cheaper than what PC wanted to charge us.

Avoid PC at all costs, they quote you less so you think they'll be cheaper and then they try to screw you with fees and BS extra charges.
