I have been a loyal Co-Operators client for the last eight to ten years. I had my 3 homes, 4 Automobiles and a pleasure craft insured with Co-Operators over these periods. Very sub-standard customer service and customer care. They never promptly reply to any insurance queries or insurance change requests. Always have to fire a follow-up email or branch visit to get the job done. Whenever you visit this branch in person, this location has the worst reception area ethics with associates with poker faces. I have doubts some associates there even know full Ontario auto license and insurance rules. They mentioned " A new G1 license holder has to be listed in the policy since he lives in the same address " while Ontario law says since a G1 license holder can' drive all by themselves, the companion driver's insurance covers them. Needless to say, time to move now since these people are taking business as granted: ( May it is just the location I was dealing with in Kanata, ON but they have to get their act together in this highly competitive service industry.
I was the last car in a 3 chain rear end. The horrible adjuster didn't investigate. I had no claim but they raised my rates 100 percent. They claim there is nothing they can do about no-fault determination rules and they stuff you into a scenario from the 1990 policy that doesn't take into account modern technology, fraud, distracted driving by the first or second drivers that had already collided suddenly with no opportunity for me to react to an unforeseen event. They lie. Stay away.
Did you know that on average Ontario drivers with good driving records pay $1,805/year in auto insurance? Is your insurance rate higher? Get a free car insurance quote and start saving today.
Such a bad company! Not recommended for anyone, they don’t do their job properly and people fool them and get money. I had an accident and it wasn’t my fault but they are unprofessional enough and so cheap to investigate and do their job.
I had auto insurance for two of my cars with this company, and the individual I dealt in the past was a really nice lady. Who offered me the best customer service. But my file was transferred over to someone other individuals in this company, and I have spoken to them about insurance for my new car. Which they agreed and quoted me on and I also provided them with the date of receiving the vehicle. On the date of signing my vehicle, they called me an hour before that and told me my insurance was cancelled and I have 15 days. And gave me all invalid and unrelated reasons. My record was clear, no tickets, no claims, no accidents. I have been with them for so long. Had a good record and relationship, yet they provided me with the worst customer service. Especially the individual whom I spoke to. Disgusting manners. Never AGAIN with this insurance company. They don't know what professionalism is and sounds like they don't even like working there.
I called to get a quote for auto insurance from Cooperators. The representative is totally unprofessional and asking my information with the very poor manner and showing that she doesn't like her job at all and also she doesn't like that I am calling to get a quote. She asked me why I need insurance? Hahaha, I answered I cannot drive without insurance in Canada and that's why I need this. I felt like I did wrong because I am calling this stupid company to get a quote and tried to give business to them. She said I need to send my driving abstract to them to get the insurance. Because this is their policy and they have to see If I had 15 accidents in earlier. That made me super dumb and surprised!!! I told her I don't have any accidents in the past and I am a customer and calling to do business with your company and she shouldn't talk to a customer like that way. I am very happy that I didn't go too far and got insurance from this company. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!
If you have a good driving record in AB, you should pay around $110/month (women - $105/month and men - $113/month). Do you overpay? Get an Alberta car insurance quote to start saving.
First off I insure 8 vehicles trailers and motorhome and I have been insured with them for almost 10 years. 37 years accident-free zero at-fault claims. I get into an accident 1 time when it's not, even remotely, anything I could do to stop it from happening. On a highway (only 2 lanes) guy stops on a blind corner in an 80km zone and they deem me 100 percent at fault. No police come, so, no file, no record and now they raise my rates through the roof! The motorhome was 500.00 approximately a year to insure now 7,000.00 a year can you say TOTAL RIPOFF! Insurance companies in Canada should be shut down or the government needs to step in and do something about these crooks! If you have insurance isn't this what it is for!
This insurance company is really a garbage. The collision happened 3 weeks ago and they didn't reach out their client! They just told me the driver is not answering the phone and asked me to wait and wait and wait only! I personally called the driver and there is it, someone answered the phone! I told this to one of the agents but he's still saying me they cannot do anything at this point so just wait!!! And then this agent just cut off my phone!!! 3 weeks I have to pay the towing fee and all the transportation myself!!! Trust me, the Cooperators will do nothing when you have a problem. I suggest everyone, don't use this rubbish company anymore or you have to prepare for a tragedy.
Had to move and changed my address - they increased my insurance before the end of the 1-year contract - I was with them for only 3 months! So I quoted with other insurance companies, and they all gave me a lot lower rates for my new address. Tried to negotiate and they gave me a lower rate by phone, and then would not confirm over e-mail or any documents and started charging me the higher rate! You cannot trust this company - horrible!! Do not recommend to anyone!!!
Customer service is awful even before buying. You can imagine what happened after buying. I highly recommend to stay away from this company. They rejected my phone when I was talking and asking to change the liability of my auto insurance.
The service is slow and poor, it is been more than 50 days and I am still waiting for my claim to be released. The adjuster never picks up your call, and will not even give you a call back even if you ask via email or via co-operators customer support. I would suggest to never go for co-operators in your entire life, I was new here in Canada so I got stuck with them. The customer service has no control and they are the only one who is there and listen to your frustration.
