Disgusting excuse for a financial institution

by Frank Basso on Dec 21, 2022
1 out of 5 stars

Don’t Ever be a human being and make a mistake by paying your PC CREDIT CARD 2 times and have a credit. If you try to get your money back they will charge you. Even if you ask for a cheque. $20.00 and 30 days waiting. But got forbid you are 1 minute late with your payment, the interest is slammed through. I’ve decided to invoice them to get my money back and charge 22% interest until they pay and $250.00 for any time to resolve their inadequacies. If more people do this they may get the message.

Unauthorized transactions have been denied

by Stefan H. on Dec 13, 2022
1 out of 5 stars

I spotted two unauthorized transactions from a healthcare provider in the US who I never heard of as I live in Canada. Both transactions have been disputed and I ordered a new card. The PC agent who I spoke to first said that both transactions will be combined into one claim. Therefore, I filled out the only submitted document to support my claim and emailed this document on the same day showing both transactions to support the claim. A few weeks later I received a letter stating that one transaction claim has been denied. I called PC and the new agent explained to me that there is an error message on my claim and that it's not possible to have two unauthorized transactions combined into one claim. She also told me things that the other agent missed filing so my entire claim has been closed. She also said that there is no way for her to re-open that claim. This is unacceptable customer service which makes me push more business to my other credit card companies. My PC Mastercard account I closed at the end of my last conversation with them.

The worst expierence I ever had.

by Matthew on Oct 21, 2022
1 out of 5 stars

I was dealing with PC Financial when I had a dispute over a purchase where I did not receive the product I was supposed to get. Not only was customer service awful ( wait times over 2 hours, only to speak with a representative who was unknowledgeable about the process) but the company offered me no help at all. Even when I went to put my card on hold as a precaution, the company said they would, and then when I went to test it, didn't. It may be seen as a cheap option, but when you really need your credit card to do as it is meant to (which is to protect the user), it will fail every time. My first review I've ever written because it was an appealing experience.

Terrible customer service

by Lauren on Oct 6, 2022
1.5 out of 5 stars

The customer service agents always seem lost, always have to go ask someone for help, and somehow still end up not knowing what they're talking about.

But what has prompted this review is their collections department. I usually pay bills on time, but shit happens and I've unfortunately been hearing from a number of collections departments. Most are kind and understanding. They ask why you're behind if you can pay anything, when you can pay, and try to set up a payment plan. They're grateful when I say I don't need a payment plan, I'll catch up on a specific date. PC is just dehumanizing. They make a bad situation worse and leave me feeling horrible, I wouldn't be surprised if they'd pushed someone on the edge of suicide before. My mental health certainly nose dives whenever I speak with them. I answer, and they say it's PC and I say something like "I'll catch up on Friday" and they say "do you know you owe $165?" And I say "yes, I'll catch up on Friday" and they say "if you don't pay now it will affect your credit score" and I say "I literally have no money until Friday. There is about $3 in my bank account right now." And they suddenly get aggressive and say "can you pay $65?" And I say "look, I told you I have no money, I literally don't even know how I'm feeding my family this week, I'll pay you on Friday" and they start *yelling* at me and making threats about credit scores and how horrible my life will be if I don't pay some minimum amount when I have already told them I have nothing to give. And then I start crying and hang up. And then someone calls the next day and says "oh, looks like you got disconnected" and the whole conversation happens again.

Every other company is like "you can pay Friday? Can you pay a smaller amount sooner? No? OK. We'll stop bugging you for now and watch for that payment, thank you."

Bogus interest charges- watch your statements

by Finn on Dec 26, 2021
1 out of 5 stars

Twice now I have had to call and inquire why I am being charged interest on credit card statements when the bill is paid on time (full balance). It actually happened on 3 statements. I didn't catch the first one (it was $6) but the second one was for $101, so I began to carefully check bank statements. Then recently, so 6 months after the first one I caught, it happened again. They reverse them but a ridiculous process to speak to someone and ZERO explanation as to how this happened!!! They don't even question you they just say they will reverse it. Suspect, to say the least. I used to love this card but I think this time I will be cancelling it for good, after 20 years.

Customer Service

by BHolman on Feb 2, 2024
1.5 out of 5 stars

The worst customer service I've ever experienced. I disputed a charge and submitted all supporting documentation - instead of a credit back to my card they processed a debit. So now I've paid for this twice and nobody seems to be able to reverse this.

Bad customer service

by Manpreet Kour on Nov 25, 2023
1.5 out of 5 stars

I have a PC financial Mastercard which I hardly use to make a purchase. I used it once at Costco due to no other options and forgot to pay. PC customer service never sent a reminder via emails or phone calls that your payment is due and sent directly to collections. I have been using other credit cards and never experienced such bad services. I am done and cancelling master card.

Blocked card

by Bill Haldane on Oct 24, 2023
1 out of 5 stars

Our card was blocked because we forgot and were late one payment. The notification we got was misleading because it said we had exceeded our limit (we weren't close to your limit). We have had the card for years and have paid off the total balance monthly. This was the first time we were late on a payment. I have never had a card that was so aggressive in its block.

Need to be taken out of business.

by Smitty1229 on Sep 10, 2023
1 out of 5 stars

I have had this card for several years. The points system is screwed up, to say the least. Not sure how many times I had to get points added to my account due to their stupid point system. They wanted me to resubmit a lot of information that was already submitted. I said that it was already submitted and the result was automated responses. So I dropped it not worth the effort. Now I see a pending total on my account of 1260 dollars which I don't see a list of pending charges or even 1. I shouldn't have any pending charges on my card. So going to pay the card and grind the card up. Tired of these corporations with the overcharging in interest rates and grocery store prices. Complete lies to the reason they are so high...
