Amateurish

I used to work for one of the big 5 so have some experience. I got this for PC points and then one month they lowered my limit. I contacted them and it was restored only to be reduced 2 weeks later... Whenever I use secure messaging via the app I’m told I have to call. When a supervisor is requested they’re not available but will call back in 24 hours.

In their defence, they do call back but it’s days later, unfortunately.

Not impressed.

Avoid PC MasterCard

Got the card approved 2 months ago, 12k limit, used one time at No Frills, spent $90.00 and then Esso speed pass app. Used it twice, about $120.00 ($60*2) Then card got suspended. The same case as others, call them up, give me all about I was under their fraud alert, ask me series of questions and I told them I have been living at the same address for more than 20+ years. They, basically, ignore what I said. I spoke to them and all my security questions answered were correct, but they still claim I was under fraud monitoring. What is that? I asked to speak to that department, they said - no, then they said they will file a case onto my account and they will review it. Of course, they didn't, called them up twice every 3 days, they ask me the same stuff again, said that my card gets reactivate within 24 hours, he told me to trust him. No need to call back. Fine! 6 days later, went to Tim Horton's and tried it out, the same decline message. Call card provider, such a joke! PC MasterCard, shame on you! If you are not willing to lend, don't ask us to apply! Wasting our time and take a hit on our credit. Anyone who sees this message, AVOID them!

Avoid PC Financial Mastercard.

I had a PC Financial credit card for several years, and in 2020, they suspended my card for maintaining a balance for too long. Not for being overlimit, not for not making payments; simply for maintaining a balance, in spite of always keeping it under the limit and paying at least my minimum every month (often more than that). I contacted them about this and the agent claimed that this was a rule and that I'd been notified. I had not. There was no letter on record and nothing on any of my previous statements warning about this action being taken. In spite of this they refused to remove the suspension and just offered that if I made a larger payment, they could consider unsuspending. I immediately made a larger payment (IIRC about 1/4 of the balance), and they told me that wasn't enough, and that they would now unsuspend my account when the balance was paid. So in April, I paid down the remaining balance, and have maintained a zero balance since then as I intended to buy tickets with PC Travel this fall. Fast forward to today, and I attempted to buy the tickets. Turns out my card still wasn't working. I called them to enquire, and they now said that my card was marked for purging due to being unused for too long. I asked them why this was because it wasn't set to expire until July 2021, and they said that they reserve the right to purge accounts, not in use. I asked them to reconsider, under the circumstances, and given the runaround, they'd given me, but they would not. My only option would be to wait for the card to be purged and then reapply for a new card. No thank you! Stay away from PC Financial Mastercard.

So many problems.

I noticed on my statement that someone else was using my card everyday for skip the dishes. I called the card company. I was put on hold. When I did get a recording saying 16 people were ahead of me. No option for a call back. Not only that if it is over 30 days they won't help you.
The insurance is the same as the amount I spent. A nightmare.

Terrible Customer Service

by Karine Gareau & Guillaume Leclerc on Jul 23, 2020
1 out of 5 stars

We were so happy to get our PC card. We were excited to collect points but our experience has been absolutely terrible. Within the first day of use, one of our transactions got flagged. The account on hold as it was considered a large purchase on a newer account. Fast forward three days later, and five phone calls. They tell us someone will call to authenticate us within 24 hours. When we call back, we get the same message. We call every morning and yet it is the same story. Nobody can serve french speaking people and while both my partner and I called to confirm our identity, that doesn't seem to be enough. We were jumping through hoops to use their credit card. There are way better companies out there and they will let you use the services you signed up for. STAY AWAY!

Disputed charges not supported

by janhanson on Jul 13, 2020

Basically, you have 30 days to figure out that a charge on your card is not valid. And customer service will make you wait on a line, but be completely unhelpful. You must supply cancellation confirmation from subscribed software if this is a software subscription. They are not interested in flagging software companies that are ripping off people with subscriptions. I am in dispute with a software company. The cancellation did not produce anything more than a screen print that I judiciously took, but it is not enough to contest the charges. I am livid. Do not purchase the software. You will not get the software and you will not get refunds and after you cancel you will still get charged. Normally the credit card company has your back, but PC Financial does not. It is only good for groceries.

The worst

Putting high-interest rates aside (holy moly their interest rates need to chill). I just called customer support because I have noticed that $600 has left my account with no transactions or pending transactions. I simply asked (4 times) if there was maybe something they saw on their end that I didn't see because it just didn't make sense. The woman talked in circles for about 20 mins only to get frustrated with me asking the same question that wasn't being answered by saying "it is probably the hefty $500 bill you have". I always keep my cool with customer support because I've been in their shoes but to disregard my concerns and then address my problem (finally) with such an attitude really pissed me off. Don't get a card with them, this is not my first issue and it will not be my last.

NOT worth the stress

by PCgoodFoodBadCard on Apr 10, 2020

Nov. $10000 limit. Dec. Locked card for security verification. Jan. Unlocked/Completed Jan. Lowered credit Limit and raised interest. I absolutely believe all the terrible reviews that this card is received on this site and others. I wish I would have read them before I signed up. Now there were many other problems with this company that I have just given you the basics. They are liars can't give you a straight answer and I believe there is something really fishy with this company. I feel uncomfortable with them even having my information but what's done is already done. I have four other cards that I've had for years and years and I have never seen or had the problems I do with this thing and those people. Don't get this card unless you are not going to carry a balance.

Service horrible carte bloquée

by juli on Feb 2, 2020
1 out of 5 stars

On débloque ma carte.

Fraud, negligent and dishonest

by Nicole S on Jan 24, 2020
1 out of 5 stars

I live in Toronto, I paid my owing balance in full and closed my account with PC financial, but this year when checking my credit score, I saw an outstanding balance for $92.40 and shows that I’ve been making my payments for these past two years. I didn’t. I closed my account. When I called the employees at PC Financial, all of them were very incompetent, and the best answer I got after three phone calls was that after I closed my account, a payment for $3 came through, so those three dollars are now $92.40, and now I have to pay for it. Still not the worst part of dealing with PC financial. Hang on tight. The most disappointing is that the very next day that I called PC financial, I got a scam call, very convincing to be honest, I can see how a not very smart person would fall for it. I almost did. After my surprise with PC Financial, it is not hard to conceive that someone borrowed one million dollars under my name, and now I have to pay it. These scammers had some of my information too. Yesterday, I called PC financial to ask how I can settle my account. As usual, I talked to a couple of employees with lousy English and incompetent. I am polite to them, by the way. Today, I woke up with a surprise on my visa Scotiabank. A charge for $2500 from ”Western Digital Corp 2”. Is it a coincidence that every time I contact PC Financial so that their employees get access to my private information, I get scam calls and now a steep fraudulent charge under my name? A breach of trust from a financial company is unacceptable, and they should lose their license as a financial institution.
