I just got my card, activated it, as well as my husband, was at the grocery store with ONLY this card in hand, and it was declined. An 8k credit limit, brand new card, never used, and it was declined. Called while at the store, only to be told it wasn't active. Sent me through the automated system to activate, and tried the card again. Declined. Left the store with no groceries, horrified, embarrassed, and angry. Got home to call again, only to be told yet again it wasn't active. Activated a 3rd time, only to be declined AGAIN. Both cards. Finally, tried one more time, my card was declined, the husband was able to cash advance $20. Decided to go to a different store for a few groceries, only to yet again have BOTH cards decline. Tried the bank again, still, both declined. It's useless. I have never had an issue like this with any cards, and I am shocked you're still even in business.
I called in because my card wasn’t working and I just received it not long ago and then the first question they asked me was for my social insurance number - that’s pathetic because it’s illegal to ask anyone for their sin number!!! This company needs to be shut down. I have recordings with employees while I’m on the phone with them and they are hanging up on me just because I questioned them that why are they asking for sin number and they hung up on me. WORST SERVICE EVER THESE GUYS WASTED SO MUCH OF MY TIME. I spoke to a lawyer about this and we can take action which I am. So watch out!

I really can't recommend this card mainly because my account was in good standing and they put a block on my card for being roughly $10 over the limit, temporarily. The balance was brought back down to 0 within the week but I never bothered to reactivate the card based on principle. I just found in ignorant that they would authorize a transaction bringing you just over your limit, then send you an email advising you that they've temporarily suspended your card privileges and to contact them. I could understand if you have a poor payment history but it was so entirely out of the blue, it just put me off doing business with them. Ironically, if you check your credit report you will see that there's a note that says the account and closed even before you close it but that the terms you agreed to are fulfilled, no payments were missed and there are no negative reports attached. So that begs the question, why would you temporarily suspend someone's card for being a mere few dollars above their limit? It just makes no sense. Just stay away, There are better credit cards available with better customer service. PC Mastercard is unreliable. You can't know for certain that your card will work.
I am a loyal PC customer for over ten years, never in arrears rarely ever carried a balance over, have an "excellent" credit score rating. I went to use the card at the superstore for online purchases during the COVID crisis Quarantine and the card was declined without notice. After 2 hours of waiting on hold to talk to a representative(s) the only answer they had for the reason to decline my card was " Due to bank policy we reserve the right to decline your card at any time". This is how President Choice MasterCard treats loyal paying customers during the COVID Crisis; Inhumane!

We were so happy to get our PC card. We were excited to collect points but our experience has been absolutely terrible. Within the first day of use, one of our transactions got flagged. The account on hold as it was considered a large purchase on a newer account. Fast forward three days later, and five phone calls. They tell us someone will call to authenticate us within 24 hours. When we call back, we get the same message. We call every morning and yet it is the same story. Nobody can serve french speaking people and while both my partner and I called to confirm our identity, that doesn't seem to be enough. We were jumping through hoops to use their credit card. There are way better companies out there and they will let you use the services you signed up for. STAY AWAY!
