Commendation on Customer Care

by Ferdie on Mar 22, 2022
4.5 out of 5 stars

I had a very memorable experience with RBC on Sunday, March 20, 2022. My reason for calling RBC was to utilize my reward points for travel. Michelle, employee # 8030859 was the Representative. She was patient in explaining the procedures, methodical in ensuring she received accurate information for the flight and extremely personable and professional.
Michelle should be applauded for demonstrating that a delightful customer experience will always engender repeat business, referrals and customer retention.
Thanks, Michelle for being a true professional and keep up the good work of being a positive influence for RBC.

RBC Travel Rewards Complaint Contact

by Liisa on Mar 20, 2022
1 out of 5 stars

I am having a similar experience with RBC Travel Rewards in attempting to use or get back credits from cancelled travel. Has anyone found a complaint contact email or direct supervisor number? Who does RBC Travel Rewards report to? What is their corporate structure - Board, CEO, etc. They have over $10K of our family travel credit and it is criminal that we cannot access it and spend 10's of hours on calls and make zero progress, just a series of promises and no follow-up.

Terrible service

by Lf on Mar 15, 2022
1 out of 5 stars

Waiting an hour to talk to someone. Talk to a lady for 30 sec before she sent me somewhere else for 3h 40mins waiting and never got a hold of anyone. This isn’t the first time it’s happened. You would think with all their money they could afford to hire more people and have more training. Would not recommend them as a bank at all!

Airline cancels flight date. RBC won’t change my reservation.

by Tom B on Mar 11, 2022
1 out of 5 stars

The airline cancelled a flight made with an RBC reservation. Flight is no longer available on the Airline website. RBC won’t allow me to rebook the same flight for the day before because the airline hasn’t notified them? Or they will if I pay $200.
Rather than deal with the cancelled flight, they would prefer me to arrive at the airport for a cancelled flight? No help at all. When I asked to speak to another operator… put on hold until the call was just dropped.

Nightmare Hold Times & No Solutions

by Disappointed RBC Customer on Mar 7, 2022
1 out of 5 stars

I've been on hold for a total of over 3 hours today, and I've spent about 2 hours engaging with an agent who also put me on hold for most of that time. So far I have invested about 5 hours and counting (currently still on hold) since the first agent said she would speak to a supervisor and call me after 3 PM today, no call yet. It's 9 PM EST so I decided to get into their nightmare on hold queue again since I am supposed to travel tomorrow and they gave me a return flight with an impossible connection. They expect me to clear customs, check out my luggage from one airport (approx time is normally 90 mins) drive to another airport with the journey in between taking 1-2 hours depending on traffic and go through customs and security, check-in my luggage (normally 90 mins at best) with a transit time of 3 hours. There is a simple solution to this as there is another flight that would not require the change in airports for the same costs and it has available seats but apparently, this is too complicated and requires a supervisor... So here I am having invested over 5 hours in this process and my travel scheduled for tomorrow. Never again. Looking at cancelling and moving my 25-year banking relationship elsewhere if they won't resolve this for me.

Horrific customer service

I can't believe they are still in business.
You wait HOURS (NO JOKE) on the phone and still, nobody takes the call. I'm ready to go elsewhere.

Terrible service, theft of points

by Class Action lawsuit is needed. on Feb 23, 2022
1 out of 5 stars

We booked business class flights to South Africa via RBC rewards on British Airways after saving up for years for a trip of a lifetime. British Airways cancelled our flights due to the Omicron shutdown of flights to South Africa. We were told by RBC Rewards that our credit card had been refunded on Dec 3, 2021. Still nothing. British Airways won't talk to us as they say it needs to be our travel agent. RBC Rewards have shunted us around for over 3 months, from department to department, endless hours on hold then getting cut off (that was after 4.5 hours waiting), over 20 calls had been made, dozens of emails to customer relations, repeated logging of a dispute, etc. It is beyond frustrating.

RBC and Westjet fraudulent collusion

by C.W. on Feb 16, 2022
1 out of 5 stars

Booked a flight for Nov 2021, had to cancel due to covid, was emailed that we have a credit of $4255 (actual dollar symbol used to describe credit so one would expect you get the actual dollar equivalent when rebooking). In Feb 2022, booked a new flight AFTER going on the Westjet site to check the price for the exact same equivalent seats. Upon calling RBC travel was quoted that I have to pay an 'additional' $501.48 for 'taxes'. When I explained that I had looked at the EXACT flights on Westjet and the total with taxes was only $3466, so I should have a credit NOT a charge, I was told I was wrong and that I "wasn't listening". Then insult to injury Westjet also doubled up that exact $501.48 with no explanation or authorization. No one will offer an explanation or rationale. RBC say goodbye to millions of dollars of my investments and banking with your criminal organization. This will not go unpunished.

Rewards point system scam

by Hamed Soltanishirazi on Feb 8, 2022
1 out of 5 stars

I wanted to use my points for travel and they said I have to wait until I have enough points to use for let day Europe flights from Canada, (65000) in order to use the Avion travel point system otherwise it would be 100 points to a dollar system. And once I had enough points the offer for the tickets was to use 65000 points plus paying the full amount of the ticket in cash or using a 100 to a dollar system. Which did not make any sense, I thought at first it was a mistake and it should 65000 or pay cash for the ticket but it turned out after calling so many numbers and talking to so many people that's what it was. A complete rip-off and scam.

RBC rewards visa

by Eric Healey on Dec 31, 2021
1 out of 5 stars

Booking through RBC, Air Canada charged a fee of $80.00.
Cancelling the ticket is a nightmare, they don't allow it online, you have to phone, 2 hours later I hung up.
Air Canada won't help they consider RBC a travel Agent. I can assure you RBC Visa is not worth the fees or the nightmare dealing with them.
