Capital One Platinum Costco MASTERCARD Consumer Reviews

I had a Costco Master Card, I was very sick in the hospital and had no one to help me with bills etc. I was in over 5 months, so of course, my bill did not get paid. I got out in March and the first thing I did was to pay all of my cards off which was over 5,000.00. And I explained why I did not pay for five months, very ill and fighting for my life. So what did they do, could care less and told me I had to repay and have to wait to do that. I gave Costco lots of my businesses and money and this is the understanding what happened. I thought Costco cared about their customers. Well, the people handling their charge card don't.

This is my second year having Costco Mastercard credit card. On their website/agreement, there is a statement and cash back coupon that is supposed to be sent on January automatically but I never got them. It takes several attempts to contact them for them to send back cash back coupon. Last year I got them in late May and right now, I've called them several times already to get my cash back. Warning others that it takes way longer for them to give you rewards

With a credit score of 800+, I can choose which card I keep in my wallet. After having a terrible experience with Groupon, who was selling vouchers for a company which is/was out of business, I turned to Capital One for assistance. They proved to have probably the worst customer service on the planet. Why Costco would chance such a reputation built on customer service with a CC company with such poor service is beyond me. Stay away from this card unless you want headaches.

I just got this credit card and I cannot say more terrible things about it. The online system looks like it was made in 1982 and it never seems to work. Their system always crashes - it even happened when I was on the phone with the company making a complaint. The worst part is that returns take 8-10 business days to process. I had a $7,500 charge which was refunded an hour later because we changed our minds on the purchase. A few days later, I was unable to make a charge on my account and I was confused. It was so embarrassing. When I called, I was told that the return would take 8-10 business days to process. It's funny that they were so quick to process the charge yet not refund it. When I called, they said there was nothing I could do about it. I asked if they might up my credit limit by $500 just to allow me to use my card for a few days while the return was being processed and they declined. I didn't want a higher credit limit, I just wanted to be able to use my card while I was waiting for the return to go through. If that's the kind of customer service they provide, then they don't deserve my business.

Capital One has the worst online system! First of all, I am able to log in 1 time out of 5 on their website since the update in September. Don't even bother to download the app, it won't work and will redirect you to the (useless) website. When I am able to log in, most of the time, I can't see my statements or my transaction. Their system is just a ton of "currently unavailable" and "please try again later". Payments take forever to be processed (about 5-8 business days). You can wait hours on the phone before talking to someone!

On January 26 they supposedly changed and got rid of foreign transaction fees. They are thieves. I did three purchases today and as luck would have it I used debit, another visa, and this card. This card when converting from USA to Canada stole almost 10 percent from me!!! The others did not. Beware!!! Check your foreign transactions and tell me that I’m wrong..,,

The Capital One Costco MasterCard has a 2.5% foreign exchange rate fee added onto the conversion. Yes 2.5%. So if you travel outside Canada don’t use this card. It’s a rip off.
I guess someone has to pay what appears like a rebate to its members. Don’t be fooled!!!

Never received my cash reward cheque, after calling in they say they need to re issue another one and the only time they do that is Mar 1 you should get it by mid March! What? No reason why I never received it... Correct address on file? But here's the kicker! They changed the grace period from 26 days to 21 days without notifying me... I only found this out after I called in the 4 time to ask about my late charge fees?
I told them why has my due date gone from 15th to now to the 10th I was never late! Finally they told me... And why must they charge my card for automatic renewal? Can that be taken off?
I'm done with this card, back to using my aspire...

I've had this card since Costco joined with Capital One and MasterCard. All I can say is that it stinks. I get OK cash back amounts but the TD Visa will give me way more for my money. My card recently was going to expire so I called them....I got through and the representative issued a new card but then cancelled my current one without telling me. I found out the next day when I went to pay for something. This then impacted a couple pre-authorized payments. I then called the company and they apologized but said my new card won't come for 10 days. I asked for the complaint department twice and was put on hold for 30 mins. They came back and offered me a card to be sent in 5 days and a $30 dollar credit. I asked again for complaints and was advised of what they just gave me and how I had just been compensated. When the new cards come, they will be cancelled. Plus lets not forget the lengthy time it takes for them to process payments. Some months it takes up to 8 business days for a payment to go through. CRAP CUSTOMER SERVICE!

Costco has collaborated with Capital One and giving/promoting the Capital One Mastercard. They say you have a limit of 5k and they have a system where you can spend more than 5k but if you spend over 5k with your card, they would charge you for going over the limit. In the first place, why would you have a system where the limit is 5k but customers can spend over 5k, and they don't tell all these hidden charges they make. They didn't send me a bill and their website was down for 4 days. Because of that my payment was late and they charged me interest rates. The way they have their website organized is messed up.
