The application process is ridiculously complicated. I asked twice, being a low-risk driver, both times I was refused Insurance (for the first time in my life), starting that they are missing information. No indication of what info they were missing. A call center has no idea... The application file is ridiculously difficult to complete and they don't help much. Can't imagine what pain would be to actually for a claim with them!
I've been with Sonnet for almost 2 years now. I had to move from Ontario to NS for my job and they wouldn’t insure me here. I have always been paying my monthly premiums on time... I had an accident in 2019 Jan but I didn't even file a claim. Because there was no damage to my vehicle. AND ALL THIS TIME THEY ARE OFFERING COVERAGE TO BRAND NEW CUSTOMERS HERE. They also renewed my policy for 2 years but wouldn’t insure me after moving!
If you have a good driving record in AB, you should pay around $110/month (women - $105/month and men - $113/month). Do you overpay? Get an Alberta car insurance quote to start saving.
I had lapses in my license and in my other insurance companies previous and money problems with my bank. After no other insurance company would take me. I went online and saw they would give me a policy and although PayPal is poor and kinda tricky. Sonnet itself was a dream. And even when my car broke down. They gave me the tiny cancellation fee and nulled the policy and never heard anything else from them except for the happy birthday email they sent. LOL. They were a dream for me without talking to a single soul. Alberta buyer.
My wife sent in multiple applications. She received a decline even though she provided a detailed application. They asked for the accident history and driver's licence history even though they are to pull this information. Have never had an insurance company ask me these types of questions and then decline even though the information was different.
After filling out their online information, (hid nothing) full disclosure) I get a pretty good quote for full coverage. Now my car is financed. Sonnet then a week later decided to
reduce my coverage to liability only. No
warning nothing, to
make
attest worse I have now paid this policy in full. I now have to get new auto insurance in place to pay again. All while Sonnet was paid in full at the time of my new quote. They tell me sorry but go
ahead and cancel your current policy and we should have your money back to you in 30 days!
I feel this is absolutely criminal!
