I have dealt with ICBC for most of my life with various cars and have found that dealing with them is a necessary evil. However, being Indigenous, I was shocked to see this truth and reconciliation nonsense being rolled out paying lip service to the Indigenous community. I come from a household of 7 and we have both cars and bicycles. My two sons and one daughter-in-law use bicycles to get to work on a daily basis. One of my sons was hit by a car on his e-bike on his way home from work in May 2023; the accident was through no fault of his. He was going through an intersection and a car was in a hurry and turned directly into him, totaling his bike. Instead of treating him as a cyclist ICBC is treating him as a vehicle and asking him to jump through so many hoops that it is months later with still no action of settling this simple and straightforward claim.
The woman who hit my son takes full responsibility for the accident.
How about reconciling with one Indigenous person by doing what you are supposed to do instead of spending probably thousands and making so-called action plans of reconciliation? Based on your track record, you are way off course on reconciliation!
Complete nightmare... I was Broadsided (t-boned) on the driver's side. Another car ran a stop sign at high speed, and both cars are totalled. The driver got out and ran came back and said he wasn't the driver. ICBC is a maze of deception and gives you the run around for months. I am very injured with no compensation at all for pain/suffering. No-fault is only good for the person who causes accidents. Would never choose ICBC if there was any other choice. Get rid of them
Was rear ended at a red light, person at fault claimed i reversed into them - icbc sided with the claimant and denied my claim. I provided telemetry and gps data numerous times proving my vehicle was stationary and they continued to come up with new excuses to deny me.
The real reason is because my vehicle insurance is a 3rd party and icbc wanted to avoid paying anything whatsoever and sue my insurance instead. Best part, there’s no legal recourse I can take. They closed the claim while I was still mid-battle on providing the ever expanding “proof” they kept tacking on.
They are the worst auto insurance company and unfortunately have the monopoly so we don’t get a choice.
The accident wasn't my fault I got a concussion. The concussion limited my eyesight and still causing me blackouts so they promised wage subsidy after one month of nothing I kept emailing trying to phone nothing I provided everything they asked for three months later they finally made it clear that unemployment insurance had to come first and that they were going to top up the wages. I have now waited 6 months nothing from ICBC they decided to send me an email recently saying who cares about your symptoms and blackouts get back to work! So ICBC promotes unsafe driving now and people on the roads that may pass out! This isn't an insurance company it is a scam!

They will intentionally withhold wage replacement dispite severe injuries and found not at fault, until you repetitively call and beg them. Then they will act like they don't know why it didn't go thru. Scammers.
I have had brain injury, Back/spine injury and a wrist injury. 0 payout, and the wage replacement is 400$ less then what I was making before injury, which is NEVER on time. Also, don't bother calling them. They won't answer. If you miss their call, wait until next week.
