You may find a good rate with them but they have the worst customer service. Long wait times on the phone and once you get a hold of them they provide absolutely no help. They do not care about your concern. Any change you do to your policy your premiums will go up without your notice.
My sister in law died suddenly. We have been trying for 3 weeks solid to reach an agent, have an email returned or any form of communication during this tragic time. We have no way of moving forward or cancelling or doing anything until somebody calls us back. We can't believe that this is an insurance company that should be at the ready for clients who are paying good money. We would like somebody to help us.
Did you know that on average Ontario drivers with good driving records pay $1,805/year in auto insurance? Is your insurance rate higher? Get a free car insurance quote and start saving today.
I was with this company for 6 years. In one day they told me they can’t give me auto insurance because all my husband’s accidents are now in my name and they can’t give me 2-way insurance because I have 2 accidents now, which is not true and the simple one-way insurance isn’t working for me because my car was financed...
If I could give a rating of zero I would. Live in Fort McMurray, just had a flood in downtown. We lost our car and our adjuster doesn't return our calls. Moved into another place, outside of Flood Zone, (Thickwood Area). I called to change my address and was told I won't have my tenant insurance anymore as they are not rewriting policies in Fort McMurray as of now. Now I sit with no insurance. There is not a friendly company to deal with and they do not care about their customers. JOHNSONS! Don't you think Fort McMurray residents have been through enough?
I sent several emails to the company to find out if there would be a Covid-19 rebate offered like every other insurance company on the planet is offering I got zero response, so my guess is that’s a no. I’ve heard nothing but bad things about this company and I wouldn’t have taken out a policy with them but my original policy with Scotiafinancial passed it off to Unifund Insurance who passed it off to Johnson Insurance. That wasn’t done because they gave me a great rate, in fact I’m paying three hundred dollars more per year with ZERO accidents/tickets than my last policy. Can’t wait to renew...with another company.
I sent an e-mail back on April 14 to put my car on theft/vandalism/windshield/falling object coverage. They didn't get back to me in till I send a second e-mail. Then e-mail still didn't happen. They charge me full in MAY and they still didn't do the necessary changes. Now they are sending me an e-mail that I have to full something online and they will start putting the car on parking insurance on Jun. After 2 months? It is a very difficult time and this company taking advantage of customers and basically robbing them. I told them to cancel my insurance as of today but as per the review I see looks like they will continue to charge.
No customer support at all, after waiting hours, literally hours on hold they cannot do anything over the phone. Their customer portal is a joke, most of the time it does not work and they redirect you to call them like in the '90s everything is phone-based. Cancelling the insurance is a pain, they will jack up the rates like crazy, for anything even minor stuff. I really do not recommend Johnson/Unifund Insurance at all.
I don’t usually give reviews but Johnsons left me with an unforgettable bad experience. I just wished I had read the reviews before. After I was told that I was not going to be cover fully on my auto insurance on my brand new vehicle I decided to find another insurance that would cover me fully! Then when I call to cancel they said they were going to charge me $250 for cancellation and then after I cancel they still took the payment out of my account and they said it's going to be refunded to me it's been a month and I haven't seen the refund yet every time I call they gave me wrong information. There's more but it would be too long to write all I have to say is Johnsons Insurance is the worst. I would never recommend anyone to go with this company.
If you have a good driving record in AB, you should pay around $110/month (women - $105/month and men - $113/month). Do you overpay? Get an Alberta car insurance quote to start saving.
Johnsons Insurance is the worst. I would never recommend anyone to go with this company. I don’t usually give reviews but Johnsons gave me a hard time and compelled me to do this. Before onboarding the client they will call you 10 times a day, give all the offers in the world, but once you’re all set they will not even bother to reply to your emails. Representatives from St.Johns were the worst customer care I have ever talked to. The agent did not know what he was talking about. He was rude and very unprofessional and he hung up on me without answering my questions. I called them again, some other agent picked up and she said things completely different than the previous agent. They will not give you valid reasons for an increase in your renewed auto premium amount. They increased my premium by 1500Cad where I had no accidents, no claims, no tickets, no address change, nothing and they did not have any valid reason to do that. I am quitting on them and switching to another company even if I have to pay them extra cause I am done with their service. It’s such a pain always!
I have a terrible experience with this insurance, find a better one instead. I have to wait 2 hours until someone will pick-up the phone, then the call will be off on their end and directed it to somewhere. Frustrated by their adjusters as you ask questions they tend to give you an attitude. They are not willing to assist and help. What's the point of cheaper insurance if they are unreachable?! Go find a broker instead that will give you a better offer.
