Everyone I spoke with today was professional, and very helpful! They took the time to explain everything in detail, so I understood. Thank you guys again.
I just concluded a fabulous conversation with represantative. He went out of his way to solve the insurance problem I was having. His assistance was thorough and creative. Better yet he was realistic and honest as he listened, and proposed solutions which he was able to follow through on the same day! At the same time he was easy to talk too and very supportive and caused me feel like an important, and valuable client and not just another client making demands. Thank you.
If you have a good driving record in AB, you should pay around $110/month (women - $105/month and men - $113/month). Do you overpay? Get an Alberta car insurance quote to start saving.
I wish I had read these reviews earlier. Without a doubt, they are the worst company to deal with. It has been two(2) weeks since I called to deal with an accident that wasn’t my fault (rear-ended). I have spoken to numerous “customer service” agents, an oxymoron to be sure. And still haven’t resolved the issue. The incompetence and lack of knowledge are unbelievable…. Different stories from different agents. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.
I called to cancel my policies at the end of their term. I was surprised to get two bills in the mail afterward for a little more than $300. When I called to inquire, they said that because in my original call I said this and that instead of such and such the agent renewed my policies. When I dealt with the next agent, she charged me early cancellation fees. While trying to sort it out they put a collection agency on my case.
They have since agreed to waive the house penalty one but kept me on the hook for the car. Terribly dishonest and disingenuous people there. I regret having recommended Johnson to my friends and family and have since recommended that they not renew their policies with them.
If I have a choice I would give them 0 stars. I used with Sсotialife financial insurance. I returned my car on Apr 15, 2020, and cancelled my car insurance at that time. Somehow Scotialife financial was transferred over to Johnson insurance, and I was shocked when I received a bill from Johnson. Because even I cancelled my policy, my files still were transferred to Johnson. I called Johnson to explain my situation, every time the agent gave a different answer, the first agent said she will contact the previous underwriter company and I can call back on the next day. When I called back JOHNSON to confirm, the other agent said they need a letter of experience from that company. I called back to them got the letter and emailed back to JOHNSON. The next day I called to see if Johnson can cancel my policy backdate the date, the agent said they need the clear cancellation letter. And they refused to do a conference call with the previous underwriter to confirm my policy was already cancelled. They make things very complicated. I was out of the country and every long-distance call costed me over an hour. A frustrating experience with Johnson. Never buy car insurance with them!
Did you know that on average Ontario drivers with good driving records pay $1,805/year in auto insurance? Is your insurance rate higher? Get a free car insurance quote and start saving today.
Do not use this insurance company! Premium went up with NO reasons, personnel are not knowledgeable. The last thing that they mentioned was that due to COVID-19 their corporate email shut down. What? They have grit to raise premiums and charge extra money from me but do not have the opportunity to fix their own corporate email...
They are trying to make you pay more in every possible way. The latest experience really crossed the line: 1) They don't give a discount for etching (engraving the serial number on most parts of the car to make theft less desirable), although other companies do. 2) If you want to have a discount for winter tires, you have to provide them with a receipt. Besides that this makes you feel like a criminal, it also limits the options for someone to purchase the tires. You can't buy tires from someone in person it has to be from dealer or service. 3) Customer care agents are going from bad to worse. In 2 days they told me 2 completely different statements, contradicting with each other and claiming that the other was wrong (good job Johnson!) 4) Contacting by chat is useless because in most cases they will tell you to call, and you basically wasted your time waiting for a chat...
Johnsons Insurance is the worst. I would never recommend anyone to go with this company. I don’t usually give reviews but Johnsons gave me a hard time and compelled me to do this. Before onboarding the client they will call you 10 times a day, give all the offers in the world, but once you’re all set they will not even bother to reply to your emails. Representatives from St.Johns were the worst customer care I have ever talked to. The agent did not know what he was talking about. He was rude and very unprofessional and he hung up on me without answering my questions. I called them again, some other agent picked up and she said things completely different than the previous agent. They will not give you valid reasons for an increase in your renewed auto premium amount. They increased my premium by 1500Cad where I had no accidents, no claims, no tickets, no address change, nothing and they did not have any valid reason to do that. I am quitting on them and switching to another company even if I have to pay them extra cause I am done with their service. It’s such a pain always!
I have read posted reviews and hope I have made right decision to move my policy to Johnson / Unifund Assurance from 10+ years at TD Security National. In the arduous decision-making process, I obtained numerous quotes from various providers. Not all quotes are created equal (e.g. deductible amount, $1M vs $2M liability, etc) and like most things in life, you get what you pay for. I did not base my decision on lowest rates (which they were not but they were among the lower ones) more about transparency about policy coverage and experience with the service on the phone. I called Johnson three times to get further clarification as I learned about premium options and narrowed down my choices. I was able to contact the rep, Sandi D., easily each time and she was the only sales rep out of the 7 companies that I called who (without prompting from me) actually took the time to break down the policy in detail and explain each of the premium inclusions and options. Make sure you know these before you just go with the "cheapest" quote. Lowballing rates could indicate the company would be lowballing you on claims. My quoted rate and coverage seemed excellent, as I benefitted from one of their professional group rates. I also asked for quote with secondary driver as my daughter is planning to obtain G2 in near future and Johnson rate for this was excellent and they also offered temp lower rate if child away at school (not all companies do this and check on distance requirements). I also inquired about conditions for future rate increases in case their quote was a "loss leader" to get you "in the door" as I do not plan on being an insurance hopper each year. I even tried calling claims line to see how easily I could get through, as reps from Sales dept. who are hired to get your business, are not the tel no or people you will ever call afterwards. Though one hopes they would never have to make a claim, satisfaction with an insurance provider is best measured in the client's experience with service during claims process. And if disgruntled, that's when you usually hear from customers on sites like these as most people only post review if unsatisfied. Though I hope I don't have to ever make a claim, if i do, I will revisit this site to see if my decision to bring my business to Johnson and give a great rating to start is warranted. The proof will be in the "claims" pudding and I hope I don't have to eat my words and regret this decision.

After many attempts and calls, the representative took the matter to her manager and through her work she got a resolution to my claim issue.
Thanks to the rep and her team.
