Absolute joke. I was dealing with a lady located in Edmonton. Angelica. She was rude, not accommodating whatsoever and snarky. Absolute 0 bedside manner. I am changing companies solely based on my experience with her.
Worst experience ever with a claim. Horrible response time. Not helpful and I wasn't at fault but they hardly want to put the effort to prove that or fight on my behalf when my car is totaled.
If you have a good driving record in AB, you should pay around $110/month (women - $105/month and men - $113/month). Do you overpay? Get an Alberta car insurance quote to start saving.
Horrible service after an accident. Failure to cover costs of rental and to provide me with updates of fees.
Hope you have a lot of money saved up if you get in an accident with this company as your insurance provider. 50 years old and I've never had such horrible service, friends and family are surprised as well. It's been unheard of. Good luck getting a hold of anyone as well. Fail, fail, fail.
By far the worst insurance company ever. Please do not consider this company. They deal with claims horribly. I’ve had to watch my family walk through a very difficult experience with them after being in a car accident more than 4 years ago. Things are STILL not settled. They are horrible! Save your coins and find another company.
Horrible! Wish I would’ve never gone with them and will never ever do it again. If they had zero stars I’d have picked that. Two years ago I hit a deer with my car. They waited over a week to get back to me till I finally called and asked when they’d pick it up and take it to the garage. The rude adjuster lady said I hadn’t called. I did but apparently, it wasn’t on file because they didn’t put it on file. My rental was over I had to move and my car was in the shop for another month to two months after because apparently, it would cost more than they had anticipated. Okay, understandable. It was around $8000 when they finally finished it. Now two years later I’m trying to sell it and under the VIN number it pops up as a $14000 claim on a car that originally was 17000. Yeah, a car I could’ve sold for 14000 now is selling for a lot less because of some conniving money-grabbing liars who don’t give a shit. Pleasant surprise to say the least. Don’t ever go to Wawanesa. The money you could potentially save will bite you in the ass later.
I've been a customer of Wawanesa for almost 15 years. I never missed a payment. I never made a claim. I've literally handed over thousands and thousands of dollars to them and never took a penny back.
I stayed quiet when they increased my rates by 50% overnight. The reason for the Increase was "we don't make enough money".
15 years never missed a payment.
I switch jobs and had a large gap between paydays, which is making it so I can't make a payment until midnight tonight when my money is deposited into my account.
They are telling me that my account will be cancelled a midnight tonight for non-payment.
So I just want to be clear.....
They are throwing away a 15-year-old customer over-literal minutes? My pay comes On April 14 at 12:01 am. They are cancelling my account on April 14, 12:01 am.
I'll say it 1 more time...
15 years!!!
Not a single payment was missed.
I bent over and took it when you drastically raised my rates overnight with no warning.
I ask for a very small extension. Not a month, not a week, not a day. I asked for minutes. And this is turned down?
If you ever have an issue (and it’s insurance let’s not kid ourselves, you will have an issue), this company is terrible to deal with. My claim experience was good however I believe that was due to a good staff member and not a good company. I am now over 4 months trying to get someone in management call me back. I have resorted to contacting the Ombudsman and even then they have limited ability to help. Pick a company that you can deal with directly and not a “broker”. Brokers used to be the way to go, they were your middle man for contact however brokers now are really just a means to a sale and a buffer between the customer and company!
First of all, their availability is incredibly inconvenient for most people. I work Mon-Fri 9 to 5, so this company not having anybody available to help me on evenings and weekends is incredibly frustrating.
I don't need to be paying what I do for my premiums as I'm willing to accept the minimum legally required coverage with the highest possible deductible. Plus, my address has changed, which should be saving me money.
But am I saving? No, because nobody will take my call to change the policy and address for me.
I just took time out of MY LUNCHBREAK to phone them on THEIR difficult schedule. They let me WAIT ON HOLD just to forward my call to the voice-mail. I could've accomplished leaving a message that will just be ignored AGAIN, without me taking time out of my lunch break to do so...
My advice, deal with literally any other insurance company.
Did you know that on average Ontario drivers with good driving records pay $1,805/year in auto insurance? Is your insurance rate higher? Get a free car insurance quote and start saving today.
Currently dealing with a total loss claim and I can’t get over the time this is taking for even an answer. 4 weeks ago and still no conclusion aside that it is a total loss and that’s about all. To get a hold of the adjuster was well over a week after the claim was made and she is honestly the worst, crankiest, rudest person I have ever dealt with. Hangs up the phone on you and has even got to the point saying she will no longer take my calls and I will only here from here once the claim is completed by mail only. All because Of me checking in every few days to see if there is any progress. This company doesn’t give a shit about their insurers just how to make a buck. I’m absolutely amazed at how stressful this has all been. Thank god for my broker keeping me sane while dealing with this adjuster.
I've been with them for 12 years, with 2 claims. Was screwed over by them both times. Poor service, had 3 weeks of constant calls and emails after an accident to get any help. A year later and still dealing with it.
I was out at fault for the accidents when I wasn’t, one was supposed to be 50/50 even though I requested an investigation- was denied and told "it is what it is".
