Worst insurance in the World

by rubbish cooperators on Aug 17, 2018
1 out of 5 stars

This insurance company is really a garbage. The collision happened 3 weeks ago and they didn't reach out their client! They just told me the driver is not answering the phone and asked me to wait and wait and wait only! I personally called the driver and there is it, someone answered the phone! I told this to one of the agents but he's still saying me they cannot do anything at this point so just wait!!! And then this agent just cut off my phone!!! 3 weeks I have to pay the towing fee and all the transportation myself!!! Trust me, the Cooperators will do nothing when you have a problem. I suggest everyone, don't use this rubbish company anymore or you have to prepare for a tragedy.

STOP NOW!

I went through an auto collision claim with this unorganized Company. They first said the collision was my fault when there were witnesses saying the other person was speeding! Then they sent me to a car rental agency with a confirmation number that did not even exist with the company, so I was stranded all weekend without a Vehicle because I don’t even Live in an area that has city buses! I finally on my own called Another rental place and did it all myself. They are so rude and Horribly unorganized I don’t recommend using this Company for anything! They lost me immediately after the Claim was dealt with. Hear my warning people, don’t let them Screw you like they did me!

Useless

I had a car accident and they kept in tossing me around like I was stupid. The left hand didn't know what the right hand was doing and refused to understand what I was experiencing. I am extremely disappointed and will probably not deal with them anymore. Worst insurance company. I wish there was a rating below zero.

Did you know that on average Ontario drivers with good driving records pay $1,805/year in auto insurance? Is your insurance rate higher? Get a free car insurance quote and start saving today.

Co-operators

Do not go with co-operators, they do not follow the legal rules for drivers. My husband has been with them for 20 years and as soon as a claim came up, they screwed us. I was accused of an accident that was the fault of the other driver and I has to be responsible for 50% and the other driver had 0%. The other drivers insurance didn't make him responsible and the other driver was responsible for this accident. I am with co-operators and I was screwed with 50% when I was not responsible for this accident. Also there no witnesses and no evidence suggesting that I am the person at-fault. The underwriters were rude. They hang up on you, they tell you nothing, they just assume it's your fault every time when there is NO evidence that you were at fault.

What a disaster!!

We had an accident with our truck where someone t-boned us. Everything was set up. Truck to be repaired & a rental. Our claim rep told us where to pick up the rental. Well after dropping the truck off at the body shop & going to pick up our rental. The rental company informs us that we can not pick it up due to being under the age of 25. Under standing. But our Rep should have been aware of the guide lines, Try the next rental place in our town & they can not give us a rental due to being on a GDL. (Which our rep didn't even know what a GDL was) She tried a place in the city (1.5hrs away) They need a deposit of $150 paid but us. Not taken care of by insurance. Not to mention it was a small car (We live down a long gravel road in the country, a car will not due)
I was very disappointed in the rep due to not being able to check out with rental company's to see what their policy's were when renting. So because we are still young & haven't been in to the city to get off the GDL we are totally screwed out of a vehicle till ours is down. Not knowing how I will be getting home tonight. & Not like she cared about the situation she left us in either.

Ridiculous policy

Vehicle was involved in a no fault claim as a driver hit the back of our vehicle and pushed it into the truck in front causing the air bags to deploy.

After following up with the insurance company 3 times, Cooperators decided to write the vehicle off. At the time they advised us of the settlement we were told we had to return the rental car that day as the decision had been made. The cheque was to be sent to the agent and would be available in 2-3 days.

Despite explaining the inconvenience and that we had rental car coverage, Cooperators refused and demanded the car returned. Talking to the agent Robert H. was of no use as they never returned calls on how they could resolve this.

My claim Experience

I get in an accident, my fault. Very small for an accident maybe $10.000 total and most importantly no one was hurt, also no tickets we went to the collision centre. We both fill out all our information shake hands and leave. I was with another insurance company for 10 years before I always have insurance and I switched to the Co-operators a year ago to join my laws policy(cheaper) I call the Co-operators claims who say my account is frozen and to call my branch and they can unfreeze it. I call my branch and explain she says - "oh let me see why it's frozen", then says - "oh your account was suspended 2 months ago. Your girlfriend started a new account with the new car she bought with a new policy." Which made the old policy expired because she was the primary account name which puts me out of insurance. I give my ex as much as I possibly can for our daughter which car insurance has always been a part of. The Co-operators won't do anything they sent a registered letter which is all they say. No phone call or email. Trust me my ex could got me in touch with them if she wanted.

All about money

I had a theft from my bank account. The bank, of course, takes a long time to do anything. I live paycheck to paycheck like most. I had 600 dollars go missing from my bank account and the bank can not answer to it. So, the police and the bank were investigating. I advised cooperators that this had happened and they went ahead and took money when it wasn't there. Including their NSF fee. Of course, with my accounts on hold pending an investigation. I couldn't put money in nor take it out. However, they went ahead and attempted with only 3 days notice. 10 calendar days is required by law in Ontario. That being said they wanted more NFS fees as well as I was paying the NFS fee from the bank. So, now one-month premiums ended up being 3 times the price because they did not care enough to see what their customer was living through and forced more issues that needed to be. I had a claim in December. It took 3 weeks to get a rental car. So far I'm without insurance because of reasons beyond my control. After 7 years of being a client... They don't care about the issues that are beyond your control. They expect you to live just like them or your scum. Horrible people to think their benefit should be at the cost of a child not eating.

Worst experience ever had

If you have a claim, they will cross-examine you by asking questions by a lot of claims representative and finally send you to claims investigator. That person will question you more worst than a police officer. They use the method threatening to their customers in order withdrawing from the claim. And ask for personal data and bank statements. This is my personal experience which I never had from other insurance companies. I have no idea how this company still up.

If you have a good driving record in AB, you should pay around $110/month (women - $105/month and men - $113/month). Do you overpay? Get an Alberta car insurance quote to start saving.

I had a small accident while I was doing delivery for SkipThe Dishes, I didn’t know that I need to inform that I was doing SkipThe Dishes delivery and I even did it for only a few days. I told these people truly that what actually happened. I told them I didn’t know about this because I am a new driver and it’s a 2 months old brand new Hyundai Sonata. They took a statement from 3-4 times and I asked them if it's not covered, please tell me, I will fix it. They didn’t say anything, they were saying we are doing verification, it’s been 28 days, I didn’t get anything and they didn’t pay for a rental. I paid 1000$ for that, and still, my file is pending. Whenever I ask them if they would send, I need these documents and I send right away and again, they take time to reply, this is the worst service I have ever seen.
