Promises for applying are LIES

by Judge Judy on Jan 4, 2020
1.5 out of 5 stars

I've been fighting with PC Financial MC since August of 2019 (typing this now, January 2020) I was approached by a rep in Shoppers drug mart to apply for their CC with the promise of receiving 100,000 PC points. It was a lie - not only did I not get the points I was promised, now I've been told I can't cancel the card & if I insist on it, they will take away ALL of my points I earned from the past. I'm sick of calling & e-mailing only to get stories & excuses. Oh - just to let others know, you will also lose any points you have earned if you don't use them in 2 years.

Poor customer service

by Exhausted from trying. on Jan 3, 2020
2 out of 5 stars

I find it extremely difficult to ever get into my account. I am asked REPEATEDLY for a verification code, it won't accept my password, asks for a user name which it rarely accepts and repeats the process ad infinitum. I have made at least 15 calls (not an exaggeration) and the only agent who seemed to know what they are doing was the last one who did appear to solve the problem. Even then I had to finally give up as immediately I ended the call, the problem started again. Worst web site ever. I am now paying off the balance and will not use the card again.

THE WORST

by KR on Dec 18, 2019
1 out of 5 stars

You'd think the cashback rewards are great, but they aren't! I would spend thousands, pay my bill on time every single month, and get $10 to redeem? WHAT IS THIS?!! Also, they will lower your credit limit without notice - nothing, even though you've been a loyal customer for years and paid every bill on time! Don't get me started on customer service - just horrible. Stay away! DON'T LET THE "REWARDS"!!!

Incompetent service

by Disgusted PC customer on Dec 15, 2019
1 out of 5 stars

I am totally disgusted and frustrated with PC Financial MasterCard service and can't even begin to tell everyone about the run around I have received from their customer support team. I have been unable to sign in to my online account or my mobile app for the past two weeks to no avail and each time I called customer service I received promises from customer support that they would send a note to the IT team for a resolution. I have since spoken to two “Managers”, with a promise from the first manager to call me back in two days which never happened and should be fired accordingly. Both managers have not been able to fix or find a resolution yet or have their IT team contact me with a resolution. This really frustrates and bewilders me in this current tech-savvy age where any tech issues that I have ever brought up in the past with other banks or credit card institutions were always corrected during and within the time that I made the telephone complaint. This company is totally incompetent and useless in terms of customer service and finding a resolution quickly to satisfy the customer.

Useless Customer Service

by Annoyed on Nov 8, 2019
1 out of 5 stars

I got my new card in the mail and I had to call the number to activate it because when I tried to sign up online it said account blocked and the card wasn't even activated yet. I called and gave my card number and date of birth and she said she would have to transfer me to the appropriate department, I was then talking to some guy and he said he had to transfer me to someone else because he was having technical issues and then the last guy said he had to put me on hold while he checked my account, I waited for about 5 minutes and he still didn't come back, so I hung up and cut up the credit card, I will take my business elsewhere. Totally useless customer service, no one knows what they're doing because they're all too busy talking to each other. I think this customer service is in India. I don't recommend doing business with this company. Customer service sounded like party central with all the noise in the background

Credit report checked monthly

by Seeing Red on Sep 4, 2019
1 out of 5 stars

I have a PC Mastercard. Never missed a payment, was always early, and always paid more than the minimum amount. Today I checked online, to find out that PC Mastercard had closed my account. No warning, no letter, no explanation... I called, and went through hell trying to speak to someone. One after another, the customer service agents were terrible to speak to. One accidentally hung up on me, then when I called back I spoke to another person and it sounded like there was a party in the background. Finally, I demanded to speak to the supervisor, I was informed by him that they do monthly credit checks for their existing clients (that's right...), and because my credit score had slightly lowered due to another company (I repeat, another company that has nothing to do with them), they decided to close my account. Not only is this appalling, it's also judgemental, derogatory, and should be illegal... And one last thing: by checking your credit monthly, and deciding to close your account due to what they see, they are lowering your credit even more. I now have "Account Closed" on my credit report

PC Mastercard Blocked

by fatbertlau on Aug 26, 2019
1 out of 5 stars

I went to a restaurant on July 19, 2019, and my credit card was blocked when I was trying to pay by my PC Mastercard. I called their Client Services and they told me I could not answer some security question regarding my account (which I have no idea when or where this happened). Then I called the other day trying to find out why and the agent told me not to use the speakerphone. I think this is so rude and she kept saying because I am a sup cardholder and blah blah blah... Next day, I cancelled my sup card account. Before that, I personally used this card for the regular purchase and generated $ 3,000 balance each month. Now I and my wife are not using PC Mastercard at all. I have so many credit cards in my whole life and never missed a payment. In my personal experience, PC Mastercard constantly checking your credit bureau quite often than other credit card companies. If you don't want soft hit / hard hit on your credit bureau, better cancel this card now.

Terrible online site

by Unsatisfied. on Jul 25, 2019
1 out of 5 stars

Twice I had gone online to print off a copy of my statement ... site down for upgrading. I go online today, enter my information, wait for a Verification Code ... it takes 13 to 24 minutes for the verification codes to come in. I phoned to talk to any agent, to change to having my statement mailed to me ... after 10 minutes with her, I was told it will cost me $10.00 to change to paper statements. I told her that’s ridiculous (1st time I have ever said a swear word to an agent .. I was so mad). I said to her I want to cancel my card. I am switched to another agent, trying to convince me to keep the card .. offer me 10,000 and then 20,000 optimum points ... I declined. Points rewards were no bargain .. they restrict how many points you can use at 1 time. I am very happy to have cancelled this card!

Horrible card/ service

by SavvyDoctor on Jul 20, 2019
1.5 out of 5 stars

Canadians are known internationally as being savvy bankers. This card is the exception. It keeps rejecting my purchases despite being nowhere near my credit limit [their security algorithms are so paranoid my card is continually being rejected for small and large purchases alike despite my calling twice to ask them to fix this], their managers are only available during biz hours, which is ridiculous for troubleshooting purposes, and they don't call back when promised because they don't call back at all, the card's dashboard does not reflect what I see on my dashboard, and their Customer Service representatives don't listen. This card represents pure incompetence. It was a great card when PC banking existed. Now it's a small horror show. Thanks, PC Mastercard managers for ruining what was once a truly great Canadian product. This card is a time and energy sinkhole.

Poor service

by Winnipeg on Jul 12, 2019
1 out of 5 stars

I used this card all the time and would pay it off as quickly as possible to avoid interest and penalties. In doing so I would use my card at mobile one stations to fill up with gas and then pay the card off as soon as I could. Because I payed off the card before they could charge me interest I stopped receiving points for gas. Any other purchase that was paid off fast I would not receive the points either. On top of that I had to work out what was going on myself because customer service never did tell me what was going on, only that they were looking into it. The card has sat in my desk since. I would not recommend this Card or PC financial.
