I opened my credit card account two months ago. Received the promotion bonus of 50 000 optimum points as suggested. Cannot log in. I tried calling several times, and each time they said they are working on it, and assured that they escalated the issue! At the 2-month point, I called to close my account, at which point they told me they would remove all my PC Optimum points, that I have been earning over several years. Literally the worst customer service, ever.
PC Financial clearly has no clue what they're doing. I was approved with a limit 4X higher than my next highest card, yet they put me through a secondary review when I tried to activate the card. I spoke with 6 different people in their risk services department, and each one gave me a different method of verifying myself for the secondary review. After 3 visits to a PC Financial pavilion and hours on the phone, I realized the card wasn't worth the hassle and cancelled. Compared to my experience with American Express and many other companies, PC's customer service doesn't even come close. The perks of the card are minimal considering you can earn PC Optimum points on their own, and many other cards offer more valuable points on grocery store/pharmacy/gas spend.

I activated my card this morning. My experience of talking to their customer service agents on the phone was already very unpleasant. I had to speak to 4 different agents in order to get somewhat clarified information. 3 of them were far from being pleasant. I do not have high expectation, as I know it is not an easy job. However, they are very impatient to explain and clarify how their reward system works. Contradictory info was provided.
I have this card for 1.5 years now and no trouble paying them. I started with $2000 credit limits in 2017 and pay them always on time and above minimum payment every month. Then in April 2018, my limit decreases to $1600. When I called, I was told that I was overlimit for the past 3 months (due to interset $30 over the limit), ok fine, so I started paying $500 every month from April, May and this month June. When I checked my account online today, my credit limit decreases again to $1100 as I called today and spoke to the customer rep, she says, they like the way I pay and I am always on time no past due but the reason for the decrease was based on my entire credit scores which she says affected my credit limit to decrease. She suggested contacting Equifax or trans union for credit scoring. I told her I am registered to both credit bureau with alert to credit decrease on my score and so far my score is good (700) and I also told her that I just go credit increase from option Canadian from $500 to $2500 also this month, so I don’t possibly believe it got something to do with my credit score. How do you base your credit decrease when the client is actually paying good and no past due amount? By decreasing credit limit twice within the 2 months, You are actually hurting your client’s credit scoring regardless telling your client, there is wrong the way they pay but lowering their limits with different reason won’t help in building better credit review. I’m planning to close this PC financial Mastercard account, keeping it may ruin my credit more than building it better. Who knows, maybe next month they have a different reason when they decided to decrease my limit to $500. Might as well close it
Wow, I have a number of credit cards. The one I definitely would not recommend would be any Presidents Choice card. They will give you credit limit increases and then take them away the next month. This has happened to me twice. Also, online statements only go back 24 months where most credit card companies go back seven years. I had to pay $10 per statement to get the ones I couldn’t print out. And then they told me it would take 5 to 10 business days. It only took me 3 days to get the right person on the phone to get them printed off in the first place. I normally don’t make posts like this but this company is out to lunch
I applied for a PC Financial Card in Shoppers. I was told I would get 70,000 points for opening it. I put my son as a supplementary cardholder. They gave the points to him!!! I am female and the primary cardholder!!! Looks like discrimination! I’ve been trying to get it straightened out for weeks and not done yet. Very angry. I think I should sue for discrimination.
